Letting Go of Pursuit When Clarifying the Facts

Jan. 16, 2017 |   By Rong Guang, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) I used to have the attachment to the number of people who quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations when I clarified the truth to people. I was so concerned with their final decision that I failed to thoroughly clarify the facts of Falun Dafa to them. It didn't truly have the effect of saving them.

Master told us:

“I think that at the tourist sites, you should not take quitting the Party or the Young Pioneers, or the 'three withdrawals' itself, as your goal. Remember, everyone, you are to have clarifying the truth and saving people as your goal!” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)

There were a couple people who quit the Communist organizations as soon as I mentioned it because other practitioners had already clarified the truth to them. The first one was a leader at my former workplace. I ran into him at the entrance of a residential area one day. He looked like he was in pain. I asked him what happened. He told me that he felt miserable. I asked if he had quit the CCP. He answered, “No.” I offered to help him quit and he agreed right away.

When I talked to a fellow practitioner about this encounter, the fellow practitioner said, “Wow! I have clarified the facts to him every day, but he wouldn't quit. I almost gave up on him.” I realized the person's quick decision to quit was based on the fellow practitioner's previous efforts. Master and Dafa were the ones who saved him. All I did was ask the person a question.

The second person was my brother. One day, a fellow practitioner told me, “Your second cousin and his wife both quit the CCP after I talked to them. But your second brother refused to.” I decided to talk to him as soon as I got a chance.

One day, I ran into my second brother outside of a market. He had a big bag of medicine in his hand that he just got from the hospital. I asked him why. He said his stomach has been giving him trouble, but no medicine worked. I asked him, “Have you quit the CCP?” He replied, “I retired long ago and haven't participated in Party activities or paid any Party fees.” I said, “Quitting means you have to announce it on the Internet.”

My brother looked around. When he saw that no one was around us, he said, “OK, you can quit for me.” I told him his medicine would work now. I also told him he would be blessed if he could recite “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in his mind.

A month later, I ran into my brother at the market. I asked him if his stomach was doing better. He said happily, “Yes! Yes! Falun Dafa is miraculous!” I told him to continue reciting those words. He said he certainly would!

These two examples taught me that I wouldn't have been able to persuade people to quit the CCP without my fellow practitioners' previous truth clarification efforts. It's like digging a well. Water gushes out after the final hit of the shovel, but the final hit couldn't have done it without the previous digging. We Falun Dafa practitioners are one body. We have to let go of the attachment to any pursuit and work together to validate the Fa and save sentient beings.

Finally, I would like to encourage my fellow practitioners with Master's poem,

“Doing but pursuing not—Constantly dwelling in Dao.” (“In Dao” from Hong Yin)
