(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 were illegally arrested.

1. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Guirong and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Gao Guirong, a retired worker from the Deyang City Post Office, and another elderly practitioner were arrested on September 4, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the West Residential Community. The other practitioner was released because of old age. Ms. Gao was taken to a hospital for a physical examination. She was then released due to high blood pressure.

2. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Dingqing Arrested

Ms. Zhou Dingqing, 74, from Shuanghe Village, Longfeng Town, was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of September 2, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released that afternoon.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wei Guangfa Arrested

Mr. Wei Guangfa from Longquanyi District was arrested by officers from the Beigandao Police Station on August 20, 2017. His whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Zhaoyan Detained

A woman reported Ms. Zhang Zhaoyan for talking to her about Falun Gong in Ms. Zhang's own tailor shop on August 31, 2017. She was arrested, and her home ransacked by officers from the Liuhang Police Station and the Jining City Police Department. She was detained for ten days.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Cuihua Detained

Ms. Zhang Cuihua from Laiyang City was arrested by officers from the Laiyang Domestic Security Division on August 30, 2017. She was taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention.

6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Guiying Arrested

Ms. Dong Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Guiying from Shinan District were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Badahu Police Station on September 4, 2017, for posting Falun Gong materials. Ms. Zhang was able to walk out of the station the following afternoon. Ms. Dong was taken to the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City, for seven days of detention.

7. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Xianping Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Xianping was arrested, and his home ransacked for distributing software that circumvents the Chinese government’s Internet censorship. He was tried by the Duanzhou District Court on August 20, 2017, and was sentenced to a nine-month prison term.

8. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yan Xiaohong Detained

Ms. Yan Xiaohong from Dianbai District was arrested and taken to the Chencun Police Station by village committee staff members on the morning of September 2, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Chencun Town. She was taken to the Dianbai District Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

9. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

The police ransacked Mr. Qiu Zhijun's home in Lipu County on September 1, 2017. The officers confiscated a printer, a copy machine, about 60 bottles of toner, Falun Gong books, and printed materials. Mr. Qiu has been displaced from his home.

On the same day, the homes of Ms. Pan Mengfen, Ms. Luo Guifen, and Ms. Wei Sufang were ransacked. Ms. Pan and Ms. Luo are being held in the Lipu Detention Center.

Mr. Huang Muqing, Ms. Wei Jianping, and Ms. Zeng Fengling were arrested on September 3, 2017. Ms. Zheng's home was ransacked, and she was released that afternoon. Mr. Huang and Ms. Wei were taken to the Lipu Detention Center.

Mr. Ma Mingjie, a software engineer, was arrested and taken to the Gulou District Brainwashing Center by officers from the Zhongyangmen Police Station and the Gulou District 610 Office in late August 2017.

11. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gu Daping and Wife Ms. Zhang Hua'e Detained

Mr. Gu Daping and his wife Ms. Zhang Hua'e were arrested, and their home ransacked by officers from the Guangmingqiao Police Station, Congtai District, on July 19, 2017, for posting Falun Gong materials. Mr. Gu is being held in the Handan City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Zhang is being held at in the Handan City No. 3 Detention Center.

12. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Yulan Detained

Ms. Zhang Yulan from Shuangcheng Town was arrested at the Wuwei Train Station on September 4, 2017. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Wuwie City Detention Center the following day for 15 days of detention.

13. [Xiahe County, Gansu Province] Mr. Qu Tao and Wife Detained

Mr. Qu Tao and his wife, from Xiahe County, were arrested by officers from the Chenguanying Police Station, Xigu District, Lanzhou City, on the afternoon of August 31, 2017. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, Falun Gong books, and cash. The wife was released on September 4. Mr. Qi is being held in the Xiguoyuan No. 3 Detention Center, Lanzhou City.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zheng Decai Detained

Mr. Zheng Decai from Zhuanghe City was reported and arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in a farmers market on September 4, 2017. He is in custody at the Guangmingshan Police Station.

15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hu Guizhen Abused in Prison

Ms. Hu Guizhen is being held in the Masanjia Ward at Shenyang Women's Prison. Prison guard Sun Dingyuan kicked her lower abdomen when she was practicing the Falun Gong exercises on the morning of September 2, 2017. Her lower abdomen was bruised. She suffered severe pain, could not straighten up, and was unable to sleep after the abuse.

16. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Yiren Arrested

It was reported on September 5, 2017 that Ms. Chen Yiren, a retired worker from the Chongqing Dongfeng Shipbuilding Industry Company, Yangtze River Shipping Company, has been arrested, and her home ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.
