Mr. Zhu Dingmin Sentenced Again to Five Years After Being Detained for Seven Years

Oct. 20, 2017 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hubei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu Dingmin, 60, a resident of Gucheng County, was wrongly sentenced to five years in August 2017. He was arrested on December 22, 2016. His home was ransacked, and personal items, including 5,000 yuan in cash, were confiscated.

Sentenced to Seven Years in 2007

Mr. Zhu was sentenced to seven years following his arrest on April 30, 2001. He lost his government job because of the arrest. When he was released in 2008, he had no job and made a living driving a pedicab. His wife divorced him.

Also arrested in the same incident were practitioners Mr. Li Ming and Ms. Yu Mingjie. They were arrested for revealing the facts about the staged  Tiananmen Square Self-immolation. Mr. Li was given seven years and Ms. Yu, seven-and-a-half years.

All three practitioners were held in a detention center for one year and tortured by the guards and inmates. They were handcuffed, shackled, slapped, and beaten with a board.

The torture continued after the three practitioners were transferred to a prison in 2002.

Persecution Rampant in Gucheng County

The persecution of Falun Gong is still ongoing in Gucheng County.

Mr. Yang Changhan, 78, was harassed in July 2017 by four officers, who broke into his home. They took his photo and fingerprinted him.

The husband of Ms. Wang Guixing, 56, was demoted and his monthly pay was cut by 1,200 yuan, even though he is not a practitioner.

Ms. Luo Wenzhen, 78, was repeatedly harassed by officers in September 2017.

Although Ms. Lu Yumei, 60, has not practiced Falun Gong regularly since the onset of the persecution in 1999, she was often threatened by officers, who broke into her home in September. They took her photo and ransacked her house. Ms. Lu was so traumatized that she suffered a heart attack.

Ms. Liu Jiaxi, 84, stopped cultivating after the onset of the persecution in 1999. However, officers from the local police station still questioned her about her activities as recently as September 20.

Mr. Huang Shaoming passed away almost five years ago, at the age of 73. On September 25, members of the neighborhood committee and local police officers visited his home and asked where he was.
