(Minghui.org) An award-winning teacher was recently issued a formal arrest warrant and now faces indictment for his faith.
Mr. Zhu Puzhao, a native of Ningxiang City, was seized on October 12, 2017, in Loudi City for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. The arrest warrant was issued on November 10.
This is not the first time that the 41-year-old has been targeted for his faith. Mr. Zhu has been repeatedly arrested after the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999. He was given one year and three months of forced labor in November 2005 and was regularly tortured in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp.
The local Jinghuapuxiang Middle School, where Mr. Zhu worked for more than six years and won multiple awards for his excellent teaching performance, fired him after he was released from the labor camp. He moved to Loudi City to work as a tutor, but Ningxiang police tracked him down and seized him in October 2017.
Ms. Tian Yuxiang and her son, Mr. Yu Jianhui, both Ningxiang residents, also had their homes ransacked the same day Mr. Zhu was arrested. The police targeted them because Mr. Zhu visited them from time to time. Ms. Tian’s daughter, who lives with her, passed out during the search, but the police stopped her from calling 120 (911 in the U.S.). Ms. Tian opened the window to shout out to her neighbors, who then called an ambulance to take her daughter to the local hospital.
Mr. Zhu’s wife and teenage daughter are heartbroken that their loved one has to suffer again for following Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. His wife has hired a lawyer to defend him.
