Young Police Officer Learns the Facts about Falun Gong

Dec. 7, 2017 |   By a practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I work as a gate keeper at a factory. I practice the Falun Gong exercises on the side of the street every day at around 8:00 p.m., and have been doing so for several years.

On the evening of October 26, 2017, a young man came up to me while I was doing the first exercise and asked me what exercises I was doing. When I told him that they were Falun Gong, he replied, “What's the use of doing them?”

I turned the music off and saw that he had a small camera inside his shirt pocket, recording our conversation. I then realized that he was a plainclothes police officer.

In the past, I hesitated to clarify the facts to the police, but now that an officer had approached me, I knew that I should grab the opportunity to tell him the facts about Falun Gong.

“I am from a village nearby,” I said. “I used to suffer from a serious brain illness 20 years ago and relied on medication every day. No matter how much medicine I took, my condition did not improve. But after I began practicing Falun Gong, my illness disappeared, and I no longer had to take any medicine. I am 66 years old now and illness free. Many of the villagers envy me because of my good health.”

He interrupted me, “It is useless to tell me all of this.”

I was not deterred by his comment and continued clarifying the truth. “My younger brother, don't you think it is good for people to become healthy, value virtue, and do good deeds? Isn't this what our country needs?” I said. “Although people’s technology and living standards have improved, people's morality has deteriorated. Isn't this a big problem in our society?

“And the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted to death around 80 million people in political campaigns targeting its own citizens. Material gain has become the sole motivation for many Chinese people, and you can't accomplish anything without bribing people. It's difficult to find a single CCP official who is not corrupt. The entire society is in chaos. Evil prevails over righteousness, and people can't tell right from wrong. Good people are taken advantage of. The Falun Gong issue is the most obvious example.”

I then told him more about Falun Gong, including facts about the April 25 appeal, the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, and that Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong out of his personal jealousy.

I also told him why practitioners distribute informational flyers and talk to people about the practice, that the corrupt officials who were arrested in recent years were all perpetrators involved in the persecution, and that over 200,000 practitioners have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme Court and the Supreme Procuratorate.

The young officer listened attentively and wanted to know more. He asked, “Where is your boss?”

“There is no boss,” I answered. “There is only one Teacher, Li Hongzhi. Teacher is teaching Dafa overseas, as now there are people in over 100 countries and regions practicing Falun Gong. The book Zhuan Falun has been translated into 40 languages and the practice has received over 1,000 proclamations of support. The number of practitioners is increasing daily.”

In the end, he said, “You are 66 years old now, so please take care of yourself.” Before he left, I handed him a copy of a news article. I said, “This discusses the newest laws regarding police officers. You should read it.”
