(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 were illegally arrested.

1. [Suining County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Sha Qing and Ms. Guo Juanling Arrested

Ms. Sha Qing, an employee of the Wanglin Hospital, was arrested by officers from the Suicheng Police Station when she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She was handcuffed with her arms behind her back and taken to a detention center, where she was held for seven days.

Li Yi, head of the Suining County Domestic Security Division, and other officers took Ms. Sha to the Zhulou Detention Center, where they handcuffed one of her hands to a chair armrest and deprived her of sleep for three days. She was later taken to the Sanpu Detention Center in Xuzhou City.

Ms. Guo Juanling from Lingcheng Town was arrested by officers from the Lingcheng Town Police Station.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Dai Cuihua, Ms. Yu Dagui, and Ms. Li Huandi from the Caidian District were arrested on the morning of February 20, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked their homes.

3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yang Chunxiu and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Yang Chunxiu and another practitioner were arrested on February 17, 2017 when they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials. They were taken to the Chaoyang Farm Police Station.

Both practitioners' homes were ransacked. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials, and other personal belongings.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Hao Shuzhen Arrested

Ms. Hao Shuzhen, 68, from Fengtai District, was arrested and taken to the Yongwai Police Station on the afternoon of February 19, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center the following day. The detention center refused to admit her because she failed the physical exam. Ms. Hao returned home that evening.

5. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wu Zhongtang Given a 10-year Prison Term

Mr. Wu Zhongtang was given a 10-year prison term. He was recently taken to the Jilin Prison.

6. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Jing Placed in Criminal Detention

Ms. Wang Jing was placed under administrative detention by the Jing County Domestic Security Division on February 9, 2017. The authorities changed it to criminal detention on February 21 and took her to the Hengshui Detention Center.

7. [Zhaoyuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jiao Yingjie Arrested

Mr. Jiao Yingjie from Xinzhao Town was arrested by officers from the Zhaoyuan County Domestic Security Division and the Xinzhao Town Police Station on the morning of February 21, 2017.

8. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Xue Arrested

Four officers from the Dongguan Police Station broke into the Dongguan Elementary School and arrested Ms. Qu Xue at work on the morning of February 17, 2017. The officers body searched her and took her cell phone, keys, and about 160 yuan in cash. They forced her to sign paperwork and interrogated her. Her family was extorted for 5,000 yuan before she was released that afternoon.

Ms. Qu was harassed on January 11, 2017. A computer at the school that she used for work was confiscated.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Older Practitioner Arrested

A male practitioner, about 70, was arrested on February 21, 2017 when he was posting messages that contained information about Falun Gong at the Dalian City Botanical Garden area. He was spotted by plainclothes officers through surveillance cameras. They stopped him and dragged him into a van.

10. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yuanyong Detained

Mr. Li Yuanyong from Beichen District went missing on February 4, 2017. His family received a phone call from the detention center affiliated with the Beichen Police Department on the evening of February 19, telling them that Mr. Li is held in the detention center.

Mr. Zhang Qingshan was arrested on February 19, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Older Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Lu Min, 72, from Hulan District, was arrested and taken to the Hulan District Police Department by three officers on February 19, 2017 when she was distributing copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The police sent her home four hours later.
