(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Shenping Detained

Ms. Zhang Shenping was beaten and arrested by officers from the Taishan Police Station on the afternoon of April 23, 2017. She was taken to the local detention center for 10 days of detention.

2. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jiang Suzhen Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Jiang Suzhen, 69, was tried in the Gusu District Court on the afternoon of January 9, 2017. She was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Jiang appealed but the Suzhou Intermediate City Court upheld the original verdict.

3. [Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province] Ms. Yin Cailing Given Three Years in Prison

Ms. Yin Cailing was held in the Bengbu City Detention Center in 2016. No family visits were allowed. She was given a three-year prison term at the end of 2016, and held in the Anhui Women's Prison.

4. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Huiying Arrested

Ms. Wang Huiying was arrested on April 26, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Mingyou Detained

Mr. Wang Mingyou from Xiaqiu Town, Laizhou City, was arrested by officers from the Laizhou City Domestic Security Division and the Xiaqiu Town Police Station on April 24, 2017. He was detained.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Abused

Ms. Huo Runzhi developed a uterine tumor as a result of being persecuted. She is in the provincial hospital and could not eat for a long time.

Ms. Li Xilian was held in the No. 8 Ward oof Heizuizi Prison. She developed tuberculosis and cerebellar atrophy as a result of abuse. She is in the provincial hospital.

Ms. Wang Haiying is in the No. 10 Ward of Heizuizi Prison, where she was force-fed for 80 days. She is in the provincial hospital and was given psychotropic drugs. She felt bad all over.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Ya and Ms. Zhao Xiaoyun Arrested

Ms, Zhu Ya from the Qianchuanjie Residential Community in the Huangpi District was arrested downstairs in her apartment building by plainclothes officers who were staked out there on the morning of April 25, 2017. The officers confiscated several printers, computers, Falun Gong books, and materials. Ms. Zhu was taken to the Erzhigou Detention Center in the Dongxihu District.

Ms. Zhao Xiaoyun was also arrested by plainclothes officers.

8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Chen Detained

Mr. Yang Chen, who is employed in the operations division of No. 9 Daqing Oil Production Factory, was arrested at work by Babaishang Police Department officers on the morning of April 26, 2017. He is now in a detention center.

9. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Fangxin and Wife Ms. Li Ying Arrested

Mr. Xu Fangxin and his wife Ms. Li Ying from Sima Village, Jiaoqiao Town, Zouping County, were arrested by officers from the Maqiao Town Police Station in Huantai County on April 26, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Maqiao Town. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books and materials.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Wei Arrested

An elderly practitioner with the last name Wei from the Weicheng District was arrested by officers from the Yuhe Police Station on the morning of April 27, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Yuhe farmers market.

11. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Pang Xiaohong, Ms. Yang Jinmei, and Ms. Cai Qing from Niutouya Town in the Beidaihe District were arrested by officers from the Niutouya Police Station and the Qinhuangdao City SWAT Team on the morning of April 27, 2017.

12. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Ziping Detained

Mr. Liu Ziping from Hengtoushan Town, Huachuan County, was arrested by officers from the Mengjiagang Town Police Station on the evening of April 24, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Dongsheng Village, Mengjiagang Town, Huanan County. They were taken to the Liumaohe Detention Center.

13. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. He Qiuling Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Ms. He Qiuling was arrested at home by officers from the Yanta District 610 Office on January 28, 2016. She was taken to the Yanta District Detention Center. She has been held there for over a year. She was sentenced to two years in prison at the end of March 2017.

14. [Linshui County, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The Linshui County Court announced the verdicts in the cases of five practitioners at a second trial held in the Guang'an Intermediate Court at 9:00 a.m. on April 19, 2017. Ms. Zhang Bilan's term was changed to two years of probation.

The other four practitioners' original verdicts were upheld. It was reported that Ms. Li Kunju and Mr. Luo Xuefang were each sentenced to seven years in prison. Ms. Li will be taken to the Chuanxi Women's Prison on May 10, 2017. Mr. Luo will be taken the to Leshan Prison. Mr. Zhong Dongsheng was held in the Linshui County Detention Center. The fifth practitioner is Mr. Wang Chengfeng.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jiayu Detained

Ms. Chen Jiayu, in her 60s, from the Qiaokou District was arrested on April 25, 2017. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. She is now in the Qiaokou District Detention Center.

16. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Yuansheng Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Wang Yuansheng's family was notified by the Jizhou County Court on April 27, 2017, to pick up Mr. Wang’s verdict. He was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.

17. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Chen Zhili Arrested

Mr. Chen Zhili from Chengguan Town, Yongxing County, was reported on April 21, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by local police officers. Several hours later, three officers from the Yongxing County Domestic Security Division and 610 Office took Mr. Chen home and ransacked the place. They confiscated over 50 copies of Falun Gong books, four cellphones, a computer, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

18. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Elderly Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Li, 70; Ms. Zhang, 75; and Ms. Hao, 81, were reported on the afternoon of April 13, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Yanfen Police Station by 12 officers. They were stripped and body searched by two female officers. They were released that day.

19. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Wang Qinfang and Ms. Cheng Xiuzhen from Huining County were each sentenced to a year and a half in prison in the Huining County Court. Ms. Zhang Hengtong was sentenced to eight months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.

20. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ren Chuanying Detained

Ms. Ren Chuanying from Fozhuang Village, Gaozhuang Town, Yishui County, was arrested by officers from the Yishui County Police Department's 610 Office and the Gaozhuang Police Station on April 17, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. Ms. Ren was taken to the Yishui County Detention Center.

21. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Wanhai Detained

Mr. Li Wanhai, in his 50s, was arrested at home by a dozen plainclothes officers from the Qiaoxi Police Department on the afternoon of April 22, 2017. The officers ransacked his home and took photos. They confiscated Falun Gong books and DVDs, three or four notebook computers, and two cell phones. They left his home about 10 p.m. Mr. Li was held in the Shisanli Detention Center.

22. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ren Cuiqing Arrested

Ms. Ren Cuiqing was arrested several days ago.
