Ms. Wu Guimin Denied Family Visitation Rights

Sept. 21, 2017 |   by a Minghui correspondent in Hebei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Guimin has been incarcerated at Shijiazhuang Women's Prison since July 17. Her family reported that the prison authorities have refused to let Ms. Wu see them.

The family first tried to visit Ms. Wu at the end July, and again on August 10 and September 13. Each time their request to see her was denied. They were told that she could not see anyone during the first 3 months, the so-called “education period.” The family was also told on September 13 that Wu had high blood sugar and was given medication.

Ms. Wu Guimin, 61, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yi County of Hebei Province. She was arrested on September 6, 2015 and was charged with “using a cult to undermine law enforcement,” a standard pretext used by the Chinese communist regime against Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Wu was sentenced to three years in prison. She and her lawyer appealed the sentence, but the Intermediate People's Court of Baoding City rejected the appeal.
