(Minghui.org) I am 75 years old and have had little education. I am not good at speaking or writing, but I know that Master has saved us. And I also know that we ought to go out and tell people about Falun Gong and the persecution because Master told us to do so.
I didn't know how to tell people about Falun Gong at first. I started with the morning market close to my home. I went from one street vendor to the next, telling them the facts. Surprisingly, the more I talked to people, the easier it got and the less afraid I became. After I finished talking to the vendors in the market, I visited nearby shops – one shop after another, one street after another.
Whenever I walked into a shop, I would usually start with, “Do you want to know something? You see that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is so corrupt now – it is causing all sorts of natural and man-made disasters. Heaven is about to destroy it. You would be in danger if you had joined the CCP or its organizations. Only when you withdraw from them could you be saved. Falun Gong teaches people to be good. That's why the CCP is persecuting Falun Gong.”
Some would listen and some would not. If they didn't want to listen, I just moved on to the next shop. In the past 11 years, I have covered many districts in this city and walked through countless streets.
Clarifying the Truth
One day, when I was at a bus station, I saw a police officer waiting for a bus. I walked over and sat next to him.
“Oh, you are a police officer,” I said. “Which police station do you work at?”
He told me that he worked in the one at the train station and was on his way to see a friend.
“Do the police arrest good people or bad people?” I asked.
“Bad people, of course.”
“Can you tell who is good and who is bad?”
He assured me that he could and showed me his handcuffs.
I then proceeded to tell him that I practiced Falun Gong and how Falun Gong practitioners are good people who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He listened and agreed to withdraw from the CCP. As his bus pulled up, he stood up and hugged me.
“Thank you!” he said, and then got on the bus.
Tears flowed from my eyes.
Another day, I tried to talk to an elderly woman at the train station. She would not listen to me. So I went to talk to a young man nearby. The young man was about to agree to withdraw from the CCP when the elderly woman came over and started to argue with me.
I turned and said to her, “You don't want to be saved, and you don't want others to get saved. You know, interfering with Dafa will not bring good fortune to your descendants.”
She immediately stopped and the young man withdrew from the CCP.
I found out that there are usually many men waiting outside large shopping malls waiting for their wives. It is a perfect opportunity to tell them about Falun Gong. I often visit these places and persuade people to withdraw from the CCP and its organizations.
Cultivating Oneself
A few years ago, after I convinced a man to withdraw from the CCP, he reported me to the police. I was taken to a police station and then to a detention center. I kept telling the police about Falun Gong and the persecution. When we got to the detention center, my blood pressure shot up to 240. Police called for my son to take me home. I knew that Master had saved me.
I looked within and realized that my competitive mentality had led to this tribulation. That same morning, I made some bread dough. My husband asked what that was for, and I told him. I thought that he could make the bread if I came home late from clarifying the truth. But he got upset and said he did not know how to make bread. Upon hearing that, I got mad at him too.
That incident made me see the importance of cultivating one's xinxing. When one does not cultivate xinxing, one cannot improve no matter how much they clarify the truth; at the same time, the old forces are constantly looking for loopholes in order to persecute practitioners. You cannot just talk about negating the old forces. You have to truly cultivate yourself.
Clarifying the truth has provided me with the environment to get rid of many attachments. I cherish every opportunity to raise my xinxing and cultivate myself in the process.
I often remind myself what Master had said in "Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference:"
“But since every minute and every second of your life is part of your cultivation, you are wasting your own [opportunities], wasting the limited time that you have on your cultivation journey, and failing to walk the path well. You have to wholeheartedly do a good job at whatever you are supposed to do—and only then is it admirable.”
I know that Master would like to save every one of the world's people. I will do my best to not let him down.
