(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 6 were illegally arrested.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tao Yuzhen and Ms. Zhong Shujuan Remain in Custody

Ms. Tao Yuzhen, 64, and Ms. Zhong Shujuan, 63, from Ganjingzi District were arrested on June 28, 2016. Ms. Tao was tried in February 2017 and Ms. Zhong in April. Both practitioners remain in custody in a detention center.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Mengxiang Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Ms. Li Mengxiang from Macheng City was tried at the Xinzhou District Court on December 26, 2017. Her lawyer pleaded not guilty for her. According to her lawyer, she was given a two-year prison term.

3. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Shanying Arrested

Wang Gangxiang, a village official in Xiongjialong Village, Minji Township, subordinate to the Nanhu Neighborhood Administration Office, went to Ms. Zhu Shanying's home in the village on the morning of December 7, 2017. Wang confiscated several Falun Gong books and copies of Minghui Weekly. Ms. Zhu was deceived into going to the village office, where she was arrested by officers from the Nanhu Police Station. She was interrogated. That afternoon she was taken to the Macheng City Detention Center for seven days of detention.

4. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Bao Taken to Brainwashing Center After Prison Term Ended

Mr. Liu Bao, in his 40s, from Shou County, was arrested in July 2016. The police confiscated a printer, a computer, and paper. Mr. Liu was given one-year-and-six-month prison term. He was dismissed from his job and expelled from the Party. He was detained in a detention center. After his prison term ended, Mr. Liu was taken to the Chuzhou Prison's Brainwashing Center.

5. [Xinzheng City, Henan Province] Mr. Shang Limin Detained

Mr. Shang Limin, a teacher at the Shuiquan Village Primary School in Xincun Town, was arrested at school by officers from the Xinzheng City Police Department on the morning of December 29, 2017. He has been held in the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center.

6. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sui Shuyun and Ms. Liu Guiqin Sentenced to Prison

It was learned from Wang Ning, president of the No. 2 Civil Division of the Changtu County Court, that Ms. Sui Shuyun was given a one-year prison term and Ms. Liu Guiqin an eight-month prison term.

7. [Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Shufang and Ms. Li Guiying, both from Huai'an County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, and Ms. Jia Pizhen, from Shanxi Province, were reported by villagers for talking to people about Falun Gong in Baijiayingzi Village, Dianzi Township, Xinghe County, Jining District, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on the afternoon of December 31, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Public Security Team in Xinghe County and officers from the Dianzi Township Police Station. The three practitioners are held in the Jining District Detention Center.

Officers from the Xinghe County Police Department ransacked Ms. Jia's home in Xinping Town, Shanxi Province, on January 1, 2018. No one was at home, so the officers pried open the door and entered. The officers took all the money from her home. They also went to the homes of Ms. Li Shufang and Ms. Li Guiying.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Aiying Taken to Brainwashing Center After 15 Days of Detention

Ms. Zhou Aiying, in her 60s, from Jianghan District, was arrested by officers from the Zhongshan Park Police Station on December 9, 2017. She was placed in administrative detention for 15 days. Afterward, she was taken to the Jianghan District Brainwashing Center.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhou Meijuan Detained

Ms. Zhou Meijuan from Jiading District was arrested at the Anting Primary School by officers from the Jiading District Domestic Security Division on December 26, 2017. The officers ransacked her home when no one was there. They confiscated a computer and a printer. Ms. Zhou was placed under administrative detention and held in the Jiading District Detention Center.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Chunmei Given a Five-Year Prison Term

Ms. Song Chunmei was recently sentenced to five years in prison by the Hanting District Court.

11. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Zhongye Arrested

Elderly practitioner Mr. Li Zhongye was arrested by officers from the Shuangta Police Station on the evening of October 18, 2017. He was released after five hours of interrogation at the police station.
