(Minghui.org) I’d like to share a truly touching story I experienced when I clarified the facts about Falun Dafa in my neighborhood.
Meeting People at the Market
One day, on our way home from an appointment I had made for my little son, I parked my car in front of a food market to buy something for our dinner. We stopped in front of a vegetable stall, and the vendor greeted us while gazing at my boy. He had noticed that there was something wrong with my son’s leg. I told him that my boy used to suffer from cerebral palsy, but now it was nearly gone. I told him that our practice of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) had saved his life.
“It sounds miraculous,” he said, becoming more curious. “Can you tell me about it?” I nodded and noticed that a man standing next to me had obviously been listening to our conversation. He turned to me and asked, “May I ask how it happened?”
I thought to myself that this was an excellent chance for me to tell them the facts about Falun Gong, feeling that nothing happens by chance.
My Son's Epilepsy Disappeared after Practicing Falun Gong
I told them that my boy could not stand up straight at a very early age. That is to say, he was unable to straighten his legs. Also, because his neck was crooked, he could not move his mouth to form words clearly and saliva continually ran down his chin.
Later the situation became worse. He was diagnosed with epilepsy. Epilepsy is thought to be one of the most common serious neurological conditions in the world. So we spent more than ten thousand yuan per year to find him the best doctors and experts for the treatments. But in the end, we were disheartened to learn from the doctors that there was no cure.
I was really desperate and helpless at that time, for there was no way out. I couldn’t lose my son. He was everything to me! It was about this time that someone told me that Falun Gong might help my son. It was said that many terminally-ill people were cured after they practiced Falun Gong. Without hesitation, my son and I immediately started to learn Falun Gong. As a result, believe it or not, my son’s diseases all disappeared.
Clarifying the Truth
I told the men that, as Falun Gong practitioners, we handed out informational brochures and told people about Dafa on our own initiative and that we spent our own money to make those materials.
Some people said that we were 'engaged in politics.' But we are not. I said, “What kind of people would we be if we didn't dare to stand up and speak out against the injustice inflicted upon Falun Gong from which we have benefited so much?
“Our teacher taught us how to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. We do not fight back when being punched or insulted and always think of others first. Would you take such a person as evil?
“We all witnessed benefits to our health, and we tell people about that. Is this wrong? If the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) thinks Falun Gong is evil, then what moral criteria should we follow and how should we educate our children?”
Explaining the Persecution
I continued, “The Party continues to persecute Falun Gong practitioners, even harvesting their organs while they are still alive to reap huge profits. Because there are so many people who still do not know the truth, we have to stand up and do something.
“And even now, right here in our local area, a number of Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested and taken to prisons. The regime has used every possible means to slander and defame the practice, but that can't stop Falun Gong from spreading around the world or prevent people from learning the truth.
“In fact, due to practitioners' efforts, Falun Gong is welcome in every country of the world except mainland China. I am risking being arrested for telling you the truth because I want to save you from the Party’s lies.”
Quitting the CCP
I told the men that, in 1999, Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the CCP, ordered the persecution of Falun Gong and instigated forced organ harvesting of its practitioners. The evil CCP is guilty of the most barbarous atrocities and incurred the indignation of all.
I told them how, in ancient China, every single dynasty rose to political, cultural, and economic heights and then, because of moral corruption, declined and perished. No exceptions. Now our country controlled by the communist party is just like a dynasty. It is destined to be destroyed by heaven since it is so evil and has killed so many innocent citizens.
I said, “We all joined the Young Pioneers as kids, then the Youth League, and eventually the Party itself. Each time, we swore that we would fight to the end and sacrifice our lives for these organizations. Were you really sincere about those vows? Do you really want to be held accountable for them? If not, use an alias to quit the CCP, take back your vow, and redeem your conscience. When the gods punish the Party, you will not have to be part of it.”
Just then, the man standing next to me suddenly raised his thumb and said loudly, “I give you a big thumbs-up! Thumbs-up!”
Deeply touched, I replied, “The thumbs-up should be given to Falun Gong, to our revered Master Li Hongzhi, founder of Falun Gong! We are all grateful for our Master’s benevolent salvation. I believe you will understand in the future that the great disclosure of the truth will leave the world in amazement.”
The two men asked me to help them quit the Party. The vendor renounced the Young Pioneers, while the man who had given me the thumbs-up quit the CCP. I was pleased that both of them had a bright future ahead of them.
