(Minghui.org) The family of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zheng have filed a lawsuit against officers from the Shiliuyuan Police Station in Fengtai District, Beijing. The complaint details that Mr. Wang suffered a concussion as a result of police brutality.

The officers named in the suit were: Guo Peng, Station Chief; Guo Yongxin, Deputy Chief; and Hu Yuan and Qi Jun, two officers from the station.

Mr. Wang was washing clothes at home on the morning of October 11, 2017 when he heard someone outside calling him: “Wang Zheng, come down. Your car is blocking traffic.” As soon as he opened the door, an officer shoved him to the ground. He struggled to stand up and asked the police to show their warrant, but they ignored his request. They then dragged him and slammed his head against a wall. Mr. Wang immediately became dizzy and disoriented.

The officers took him to the Shiliuyuan Police Station. He kept telling them that he had a headache and felt nauseous, but no one paid attention to him. When Mr. Wang was taken to the detention center, he again told the police that he had been seriously injured. They continued to ignore him.

The next morning, Mr. Wang vomited and fainted. The doctor and local procurator came and asked about his situation but did not do anything about it. 

Mr. Wang gradually recovered from his injury.

Mr. Wang's family filed a lawsuit against the police based on Article 33 of the Chinese Constitution, which says that the nation respects and protects human rights. The family filed the suit claiming that the police illegally restricted Mr. Wang's freedom and violated the Constitution.
