Liaoning Practitioner Arrested, Villagers Speak Up

Jan. 30, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Three police officers arrested an elderly Falun Gong practitioner on January 16, 2018. They did not let her put on warm pants and whisked her into the police car as her neighbors in the village condemned them.

They beat and slapped her in the car until she passed out, then had to rush her to the hospital emergency room. They held her in the police station an entire day for refusing to cooperate and renounce Falun Gong in writing.

The Police Break In

The Guangning County Police Station chief and other officers broke into the home of Ms. Li Jie, a resident of Ningbei Township, and arrested her. They also confiscated Falun Gong books and a photo of Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of the practice.

Ms. Li shouted in the courtyard, “The police are arresting a good person! Falun Gong is good! It is legal to practice Falun Gong!”

Hearing her shouts, her village neighbors came out and crowded around her house. As two officers pushed Ms. Li toward the police car, many villagers spoke out for her.

Neighbors Protest

“What are you doing with Ms. Li? What did she do wrong?” asked one villager.

An officer answered, “She practices Falun Gong.”

Another villager responded, “Practicing Falun Gong improves people's health. She is a good person and she is very healthy. If something happens, you will be held accountable.”

One neighbor realized Ms. Li was only wearing lightweight pants.

He said to the police, “Why is she only wearing thin pants in this cold weather? If she gets sick, you will be held responsible.”
