Despite the Freezing Weather, People Are Eager to Know the Truth

Jan. 31, 2018 |   By a young Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang and I are both young Falun Dafa practitioners in the same city in Northeast China. We often go out in public to talk to people about Falun Dafa and the persecution. We hope that people will choose a bright future by standing on the side of Dafa. We have witnessed the beauty of Dafa through many moving and memorable experiences, some of which we would like to share.

Last winter, Ms. Zhang and I walked into an alley off a main road just after it had snowed. We saw the sanitation workers clearing the snow and noticed that most of them appeared to be elderly women. The cold weather was really hard on them. I wanted to speak to them, so I asked Master to strengthen my righteous thoughts.

With stronger righteous thoughts, I walked over to two of the workers. I said hello to one of them, a woman from a rural area, and said I appreciated their hard work. Then I asked if she had ever joined the Youth League or the Young Pioneers, two of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) organizations for young people. She told me that she had been a member of the Young Pioneers.

I told the woman that the vow made when joining the Young Pioneers, to give her life to the Communist Party, was actually harmful to herself. Nowadays, there are many corrupt officers in the Party and many people were persecuted by the CCP through political movements. The bad deeds done by the CCP are recorded by Heaven, which will punish the CCP in the future. I suggested that she would be able to secure a better future by quitting the Young Pioneers. She took my advice.

Then I told her to keep in mind the words “Falun Dafa is good!” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” She voiced an understanding of this but I suddenly became not so sure about myself and lost my words. This occurrence hindered me from talking to the other workers about quitting the Party.

My eyes turned on Ms. Zhang, who was chatting with an open mind to the workers. Seeing her open heart, I really felt impressed! Suddenly I heard someone say, “No problem. You just talk to them!” It was a man in his 30s with a sincerely smile on his face. His words motivated me. It is true that people are waiting to be saved. I remined myself to be positive and take action!

So I started to hand out New Year's pictures and truth-clarification information to them. A young man with a few items already in hand asked, “Is there anything else I can have? Please give me all of the information you might have!” He was really happy to get those items.

It was interesting to note that the manager who was present didn’t interfere with what we were doing at all. Therefore, all the materials we'd brought were handed out! Both of us felt that we should have brought more with us. We were so moved by their enthusiasm that we didn’t even feel the cold weather.

On another day this winter, each of us carried a bag full of 2018 desktop calendars. We walked from a small alley toward a busy road. At a cross street, we noticed that the northeast corner was filled with migrant laborers. They chatted and joked with one another as they waited for their work assignments.

Normally we tended to hurry through a busy area like this. This time, my heart told me not to give up and my pace slowed down without reason. Then I saw a man in his 40s sitting on a small motor bike with a serious face. So I handed him a calendar with a smile, “Hello! May I leave you a desktop calendar for 2018? We hope you feel safe and healthy in the new year!” He took the calendar. Just as I was about to talk to him, a young man ran up to me, “Let me have a calendar!” I immediately gave him a calendar and he ran back to where he had been standing. He was then swarmed with people as they leafed through the calendar together.

Later, practitioner Zhang handed out all the calendars she'd brought, so she asked me to come over to her area. A few minutes later, my calendars ran out as well. One man, not being able to get himself a calendar, looked very disappointed. Practitioner Zhang and I comforted him and promised to bring him a calendar the next time! Then we helped him quit the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations, which made him a bit happier.

We stood for awhile looking at this group of migrant workers as they gathered together, leafing through the calendars. They were deeply drawn to the wonderful pictures on the calendar, as if they had forgotten their worries about trying to make a few dollars that day.
