(Minghui.org) I was hired by a property company as a property care manager in December 2015. My salary was over 3,000 yuan per month. Although I had worked for many years, I had never earned that much money so I really cared about the job.
Three months later, the company recruited another property care manager. I will call him B. He seemed to be ambitious. He wanted to replace me and replace our team with staff that he chose. He complained to upper management that I was too old and my typing speed was slow. After that, he started recruiting many people and rejected anyone that I recommended.
The property care division was formally established in September 2016. At the meeting, B asked the boss to replace me. Since I had earned the trust of the company leadership in the past months, there was no reason to remove me. Instead, I was promoted to General Office Manager. The company also hired another general manager to oversee his work.
At the end of September, the new homeowners of the properties obtained keys and started moving in. B assigned work to others and made them very busy, but not to me. In the meantime, he pointed a finger at me during the weekly meetings without mentioning my name.
I felt mistreated. I also felt resentment and heartbreak, and my mind was occupied by the many conflicts at work. On the other hand, I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, so I wouldn’t fight with him and I had to endure what was happening without complaint. It was easier said than done. I was fortunate that I have Dafa. To help me, I read and then recited Master’s article “Forbearance” every day.
Master said:
“Forbearance is the key to improving one's xinxing. To endure with anger, grievance, or tears is the forbearance of an everyday person who is attached to his concerns. To endure completely without anger or grievance is the forbearance of a cultivator." ("What is Forbearance (Ren)?” in Essentials for Further Advancement)
I also recited Master’s other articles, which helped me feel calm. However, two weeks later, B asked me to hand over my computer to an accounting clerk. The situation was just like what Master said in the book Zhuan Falun,
"But normally when a problem arises, if it does not irritate a person psychologically, it does not count or is useless and cannot make him or her improve.” (Zhuan Falun).
I didn't hold back. I went upstairs and confronted B and said: “Boss Wang bought the computer for me to store the housing development information. If you want it, you need to ask Boss Wang.”
I then left. I heard that the general property manager told B to get a new computer. The next day, the general property manager asked me to apologize to B since he was still the manager. It was obvious that he had bullied me. Why should I have to apologize to him?
Then, I realized that I was a cultivator and should treat the man with compassion. I went upstairs and apologized to him.
As a Dafa cultivator, I must look inward when encountering problems. Why did B treat me like that? Perhaps I had some attachment that I needed to get rid of.
Before practicing Falun Dafa, I was a strong person and sought fame. I thought that I could survive any hardship. I felt my situation was like what Master described in Zhuan Falun:
“He finds himself indeed remarkable. He thinks to himself: "I'm qualified to be a factory director or manager, or even a higher position. I think that I could even be Prime Minister.”
It seemed that Master was talking about me. I had such strong attachments to fame and jealousy, and I needed to eliminate them. In the following few days, I felt uplifted. I said to B: “Thank you for helping me in the past few months. I have eliminated many human attachments. I will learn to adapt to my circumstances and do well.”
Now I see him as a person with really good business skills and abilities. He also treats me with more respect.
