(Minghui.org) A 70-year-old Falun Gong practitioner was recently indicted by a procuratorate in Hubei Province for distributing information regarding her faith.
Ms. Cui Yuanchang's indictment came amid the communist regime's campaign to crack down on criminal gangs. The police threatened Ms. Cui prior to the indictment that there is no local criminal gangs, and they will be mainly targeting Falun Gong practitioners instead. They also indicated that Ms. Cui was on the top of their list.
Ms. Cui was arrested on March 22, 2018 at a bus station for distributing Falun Gong materials. The police interrogated her until 9 p.m. before letting her go home. Two days later, they ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. They also obtained her fingerprints and took photos of her.
The police put her under house arrest in April. They later dismissed her case after she was forced to sign the statement admitting that she distributed Falun Gong materials in a residential area. But in September, the police informed Ms. Cui that she had been indicted and is now facing a trial.
