(Minghui.org) On a summer day in 2018, I was in a park looking for people to talk to about Falun Dafa. I saw a middle-aged man sitting in a gazebo. He was playing a game on his phone.
I went over to sit with him and asked where he worked. He said he used to work for the government but is retired now.
We talked about whether his phone could browse the Internet. I told him that there were still many things he’d be unable to find on the Internet in China like the history of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) political movements, which have caused over 80 million deaths.
I asked him if anyone had told him about reciting “Falun Dafa is good,” or quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations to secure a safe future. He said he'd just come home from visiting family in the United States and had heard about these things there. I asked if he had quit the CCP, and he said he didn’t think he needed to.
I told him in detail about how Falun Dafa teaches people Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I explained that former CCP leader Jiang Zemin launched a persecution because he was jealous that more people practiced Falun Dafa than there were members of the CCP.
“Why did you practitioners set yourselves on fire in Tiananmen Square?” he asked. I told him that if you look closely at the video recording you can easily tell it was staged by the government. This is now common knowledge the world over.
“When the CCP wants to persecute someone,” I said, “it slanders them on TV and in newspapers to provoke public ire, which is a common tactic used by the CCP. Falun Dafa practitioners are arrested at will and sentenced to prison arbitrarily. Prison staff inflict all kinds of torture on Falun Gong practitioners. On top of it all, the army, prison wardens, and hospitals work together to facilitate the taking of organs from live Falun Dafa practitioners and make a lot of money doing it. With all these horrible things it has done, we should quickly quit the CCP to be safe.”
The man said he didn’t believe what I was saying. Just then, he received a phone call so I tried to hand him a USB drive and asked him to watch it when he got home. He refused to take it and left.
A few days later, I saw the man in the park again. I went up to him and started another conversation like we were old friends.
I brought up the topic of quitting the CCP, telling him about some officials facing karmic retribution for the persecution they've carried out.
The man asked, “What do you gain by doing this every day?”
I replied, “There are people who will cheat you to get your money, but no one will cheat you to keep you safe. Why do I risk being persecuted to chat with people who only sneer at me? It’s because we don’t want to see good people deceived by lies and punished by heaven for turning their back on the Buddha law.”
The man’s phone started ringing. As he was leaving, I quickly gave him a pamphlet containing information about Falun Gong. This time, he took it.
Not long after, I saw the man sitting in his usual spot in the park again. He asked me, “Does your husband allow you to come out and talk about Falun Dafa?”
“He supported my practice before the persecution,” I said. “After I was illegally detained several times, he suffered a lot of pressure and became very afraid of the CCP. When I heard about the death of the police station director, I was very sad and regretful. I regret that I didn’t tell him the facts about Falun Dafa, didn’t reveal the lies thrust upon him by the CCP, and didn’t tell him that one good act will be returned with another. He was so young, but was sacrificed by the CCP.”
The man seemed to be immersed in what I was saying.
“You have passed the age range of the CCP’s Youth League, which means you are automatically no longer a member of the group,” I said. “However, we all had to raise our fist and vow to devote our entire lives to the CCP. You’ve sworn to do that so you need to erase that vow and tell heaven that you quit the organizations. By doing so, you can be truly safe.”
I asked his name, and if I could use the last two characters of his name to quit the Communist Youth League for him. He agreed.
Looking back on the three meetings with this man, as arranged by Master, I am thankful. Master has arranged the path for practitioners to save sentient beings. As long as we have the heart to do so, Master will bring good people to us.
