(Minghui.org) Ms. Hu Xuefang, 56, from Liuwang Village in Hubei Province, was arrested by officers from Xinkai Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong. Although the Huangmei County Procuratorate turned down the case due to insufficient evidence, Ms. Hu is still being held in Huanggang City Detention Center. She has been detained for over six months, which is beyond the maximum time allowable.
Ms. Hu was reported to Xinkai Town Police by a convenience store owner for distributing Falun Gong materials while shopping on February 17, 2018. The store owner is a retired employee of the county court.
Zhang Hao and two other police officers arrested Ms. Hu without showing any legal documentation. The officers searched her bag and confiscated 1,910 yuan in cash, a bank card, house keys, and 20 Falun Gong brochures. Her electric scooter, worth 3,080 yuan, was also taken. They did not give her a list of the items they confiscated. She was admitted to the Huangmei County Detention Center.
The officers ransacked Ms. Hu's home on March 1, 2018. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, several issues of Minghui Weekly, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and two couplets with Falun Gong messages printed on them.
The Huangmei County Police Department sent her case to the Huangmei Court Procuratorate at the end of June, requesting an official arrest. The Procuratorate, however, turned down the case due to insufficient evidence.
Ms. Hu was then transferred from Huangmei County Detention Center to Huanggang City Detention Center.
After Ms. Hu started practicing Falun Gong, her ailments disappeared without treatment. By following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and getting rid of bad habits, she became a new person.
Ms. Hu has told people about the greatness of Falun Gong, as well as the persecution Chinese practitioners are facing. The Communist regime is depriving practitioners of their basic human rights. Ms. Hu had been arrested on numerous occasions since the persecution began in 1999.
