Police Officer to Falun Gong Practitioner in His 80s: “It's Fine to Beat You to Death”

Nov. 20, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) A police officer who beat a Falun Gong practitioner in his 80s said to him: “It's fine to beat you to death.”

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body discipline persecuted by the communist regime since 1999. Over the course of the brutal 19-year persecution, many practitioners, including those of advanced age, have been subjected to various tortures and abuses for refusing to renounce their faith. And yet, the perpetrators are in most cases not held responsible for their illegal actions.

Mr. Chen Zaishan, from Haiyang City, Shandong Province, was doing some light farm work when a group of officers showed up and arrested him on the morning of November 9, 2018.

The police ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books in front of his bedridden wife. Then they took him to the Kaifa District Police Station, where a police officer beat him.

When Mr. Chen protested the officer beating him, the officer responded: “It's fine for us to beat Falun Gong practitioners to death.”

The police held Mr. Chen until 5:00 p.m. before releasing him. It wasn't clear what triggered his arrest.
