Hubei Man Beaten in Prison, Gets the Word Out through a Messenger

Feb. 1, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hubei Province, China

(Minghui.org) A newly released inmate from Fanjiatai Prison in Hubei Province passed a letter written by Mr. Shan Furong to his family, detailing the abuse he suffered.

Mr. Shan, an employee at Jiangshan Machinery, was arrested in December 2015 for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was ransacked and 20,000 yuan in cash was confiscated.

He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, and his appeal is still pending.

According to the messenger, the prison has been using term reduction and other incentives to instigate criminal inmates to beat up Falun Gong practitioners. The prison recently installed a new political affairs secretary, who ordered the beating of Mr. Shan and other imprisoned practitioners.

Mr. Shan’s family exposed the prison's atrocities online. The prison is now working to find out how Mr. Shan’s letter got out.

Prison Director Zhuang Guangling, and section chiefs Liu Wugang and Xiao Zhengfa were directly responsible for Mr. Shan’s abuse.
