(Minghui.org) A 56-year-old woman in Huai’an City has been admitted to Nanjing Women’s Prison after her appeal was turned down.

Ms. Zhang Yongzhen and her husband Mr. Ye Yuhong were arrested at home on September 4, 2016. Her sister was seized at around the same time.

The trio was targeted because they refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Ms. Zhang’s sister was released the following day and put under police surveillance. Ms. Zhang’s husband was released on bail one month later.

Ms. Zhang appeared in court in April 2017 and sentenced to four years in prison. She filed an appeal, but it was rejected.

Ms. Zhang’s husband received no notice of her trial, appeal, or prison admission. He found out about her sentencing from an insider.
