(Minghui.org) Mr. Gao Bing, 38, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Yanchi County. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1996.
When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Gao was a college student. He was expelled from the university, because he refused to give up his belief. He was sentenced to three years in prison and two years of forced labor.
Since the winter of 2015, no one knew the whereabouts of Mr. Gao. However, it was recently learned that he was transferred from the Yinchuan Prison to Shizuishan Prison. Mr. Gao was put in solitary confinement and put in a strait-jacket.
It is unknown when he was sentenced to prison and for how long.
After Jiang Zemin initiated the persecution of Falun Gong, the college followed the CCP's directive to publicly slander the practice. Gao Bing told his classmates that Falun Gong was good. He read Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Gong, to his classmates and openly practiced the exercises.
2011 to 2013: Forced Labor
Mr. Gao Bing was arrested on May 24, 2011, by police from Daxing District, when he worked in Beijing. He was given two years of forced labor, detained at Xin'an Forced Labor Camp in Beijing and then transferred to the Minor Forced Labor Camp in Inner Mongolia.
He had to do hard labor and was beaten and shocked with an electric baton by guards in the labor camp, because he refused to give up his belief.
His middle finger on his left hand was cut off while operating the blade used to cut toilet paper rolls in the labor camp's workshop in June 2013.
The forced labor system was abolished in November 2013 and he was released on November 12, 2013.
2005 to 2008: Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Gao was reported to the police on April 25, 2005, for posting Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials at the entrance of the county CCP school. He was sentenced to three years in Guanmahu Prison in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Autonomous Region. He was beaten, verbally abused, and subjected to other tortures.
He was released in late April 2008 but immediately transferred to a brainwashing center in Yinchuan City by the 610 Office. He was detained there until mid-August 2008.
1999: Expelled from the University for his Faith
The school leaders tried to force Mr. Gao to give up the practice of Falun Gong. When he refused, they brought his father to school to put pressure on him. His father threatened to end his relationship with his son. He was always devoted and kind to his father and said, “I haven't repaid you yet for raising me. After I repay you, you can do whatever you want.”
Since he did well academically and had a good reputation, the students and teachers spoke up for him. However, he was expelled and returned to his hometown in Yanchi County.
Learning Falun Gong
Gao Bing often had nightmares when he was young, was depressed and weak, and felt that life was meaningless. No treatment could help him. He participated in martial art classes and discovered some qigong practices during his school holidays.
He read the Falun Gong introductory book called Falun Gong in 1996 and then other texts, such as Zhuan Falun, Explaining the Content of Falun Dafa, and Zhuan Falun Volume II. He felt reborn after reading these books and began to practice Falun Gong. Soon, he felt good physically and mentally. His school grades improved. He was kind and courteous and praised by teachers, friends, and relatives.
He passed the university entrance exams and was admitted to the Shanxi Mechanical Institute. His grades in college were very good.
He often joined the Falun Gong group exercises in Ziwei Park near his college.
