Follow-up Information on Practitioners Arrested in 2014 and 2016 in Fujian Province

(Minghui.org) This report includes follow-up information about two Falun Gong practitioners from Fujian Province who were arrested in 2014, and four who were arrested in 2016, for their belief in Falun Gong, a spiritual practice being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

2014: Ms. Chen Ximei and Ms. Hu Aijiao Arrested

Ms. Chen Ximei and Ms. Hu Aijiao were arrested at home by the Naping Domestic Security police on September 1, 2014. They are being held in the Fujian Provincial Women's Prison of Fuzhou City.

It has been verified that Ms. Chen was sentenced to seven years in prison and Ms. Hu was sentenced to eight years.

Ms Hu began cultivating before 1999 and had been imprisoned for three years before this latest detention. Ms. Chen began cultivating in 2006.

2016: Four Practitioners Arrested

Four other practitioners, Ms. Wu Yuchai, Ms. Wang Ying, Ms. Hu Liyu, and Ms. Mao Donglan, were arrested on June 14, 2016.

Ms. Wu was released two days later. Ms. Wang was detained for 37 days. Ms. Hu was detained until early September 2017, and then sentenced to three years of home detention. Ms. Mao was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. She was taken to the Fujian Provincial Women's Prison in mid-September 2017.

The police also ransacked the practitioners' homes during the arrest. They confiscated in Ms. Mao's home an mp3 and mp4 player, a hard disk drive, a DVD player, a computer, three cell phones, a notebook computer, two printers, other personal belongings, and 18,000 yuan in cash.
