(Minghui.org) Mr. Deng Daoheng, a Falun Gong practitioner from Kaijiang County, was detained after police searched his home and found almost a hundred Falun Gong books, even though the books were legally published before Falun Gong was banned in 1999.
The police also confiscated his computer and found images from the Minghui website of greetings to Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of the practice, sent in by Falun Gong practitioners around the world.
Mr. Deng was given 15 days of administrative detention on January 13, 2018, and later placed under criminal detention. He was formally charged and arrested on February 26 and is being detained in Kaijiang Detention Center.
Mr. Deng was a volunteer assistant at the local Falun Gong practice site before the Chinese communist regime banned the practice in 1999. Hundreds of thousands of practitioners have since been imprisoned, sent to forced labor camps, subjected to mental and physical abuse, and even died.
