(Minghui.org) Harbin Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Cai Weihua, a 45-year old accountant for a state-owned enterprise, and her husband, a non-practitioner, headed south by train on the afternoon on February 6, 2018, to spend the Lunar New Year holiday with her parents. Instead, Ms. Cai was arrested by railway police at the train station because her ID card had been flagged by the authorities.
Illegal Arrest
The couple was taken to a police station across from the train station. Ms. Cai was interrogated until 3 a.m. the following morning. Her husband was threatened by the police. Deputy chief Sun Daguang from Tiedong Police Station even forced her husband to write derogatory statements about Falun Gong.
More than ten officers from different police stations ransacked their home the same day. They confiscated many personal belongings, including two laptop computers, a printer, four cell phones, and a photo of the founder of Falun Gong.
Ms. Cai was taken to the No. 2 Detention Center in Harbin on the evening of February 7. She has been under strict management ever since, forced to sit still in the daytime and stand still with more than 40 inmates for three hours at night. Her use of the restroom is restricted.
The arrest was an unexpected blow for her parents, who were very upset when they heard the news.
Ms. Cai
Ms. Cai started practicing Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, in 1998 but stopped after Jiang Zemin initiated the persecution in 1999. She missed the sincerity and friendship among practitioners, and the comfort and calm she derived from cultivating. She started to read Falun Gong articles and follow the requirements of Falun Gong to become a better person, becoming a practitioner again.
At work, Ms. Cai's supervisors trusted her because she was so dedicated and efficient.
At home, she took good care of her husband and child and managed the household. She was respectful of and helpful to her parents-in-law.
Her relatives praised Falun Gong, saying that without it, Ms. Cai would not be such a wonderful daughter-in-law.
