(Minghui.org) Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is a must-see destination in Taipei for tourists from mainland China. To help them learn about Falun Gong and clarify the hate propaganda from the Communist Party, practitioners go there every day to talk with tourists.
One tour guide recently told his tour group before entering the memorial hall that they would meet Falun Gong practitioners at all the major tourist sites. “If a place does not have practitioners, that means it is not popular,” he continued, “You only need to visit places with Falun Gong banners.”
Chinese tourists read posters displayed by Falun Gong practitioners outside Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei.
One elderly couple from Anhui Province watched the honor guard changing ceremony and came to the practitioners' booth. Seeing the numerous posters laid out by the practitioners, the man was very surprised, “I never thought I would see something like this!”
While talking with a practitioner, they said they knew Falun Gong well. They said that one of their neighbors had been arrested and detained for his belief. Nonetheless, he still practices and distributes materials to debunk the defamatory propaganda. The man said, “It's so impressive to see these posters with detailed information. I will tell my neighbor about this when I go back—It’s like a different world here!”
Two young women came by and stopped in front of a poster with words reading, “Falun Dafa is Good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good.” Being Buddhists, they came to Taiwan to attend a Buddhist ceremony. After a practitioner explained to them what is Falun Gong, they were very surprised. One of them remarked, “I didn’t know that Falun Gong practices Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It must be very profound then.”
The practitioner talked about her personal experience and said that the practice is now welcomed in more than 100 countries. The woman was astonished, “Wow! Your Master must be really great since so many people like the practice.” She then asked how to get started with the practice and was eager to obtain a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, “I want to read this book, too.” The practitioner gave her a copy of the book, and she was very joyful.
One tour guide said that he did not want to see practitioners. When asked why, he said that practitioners were too political. A practitioner replied, “We just want to practice our belief. We have no political agenda or pursuit. What makes you think that way?”
The team leader said he was in Beijing in 1999 and saw practitioners surrounding the central communist compound on April 25. The practitioner explained to him that practitioners went there in response to the illegal arrests in Tianjin the day before. “Tianjin officials told them to go to Beijing, so practitioners went to Beijing to appeal,” she continued, “Since you are in Beijing, you know the Communist Party well—if it was a real attack of the central communist compound, do you think the Party would allow that?” She pointed to a picture and said, “Just look at this picture and see how casual and relaxed this security officer was.”
The tour guide thought for a while and had nothing to say.
Another tour guide said that one of her middle school teachers practiced Falun Gong. She said, “She was good at teaching and was very responsible, as are other practitioners I know. But because of her belief, she lost her job, and her entire family was affected.”
She said that although practitioners in China could not inform people about Falun Gong on such a large scale as is done in Taiwan, they do talk with people about it. That was how she came to know about it and later quit the Communist Party organizations after realizing all the bad deeds committed by the Party.
“I know Falun Gong can improve health and mind nature. And it teaches practitioners to be better people,” She said she agreed with practitioners on this, “It is just that the Party is too reckless and I dare not practice it yet.”
