(Minghui.org) On April 25, 2018, a chilly and rainy early spring day, Falun Gong practitioners in Finland commemorated Falun Gong's peaceful appeal in Beijing 19 years prior. They held a demonstration in front of the Chinese Embassy, and mourned their fellow practitioners who have died under the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution. They also held a candlelight vigil in downtown Helsinki in the afternoon, and collected signatures on a petition calling for ending the persecution.

Signature collection in Helsinki receives strong public support.
Many passersby in downtown Helsinki stopped to read the information brochures and talk to Falun Gong practitioners. Upon hearing about the persecution atrocity, they signed the petition calling for its end. At times so many people wanted to sign that they had to wait in line.
A lady signed her name and left, but came back later to ask the practitioners if there was anything else she could help with. A practitioner said she could help by telling her family and friends about it. The lady said that all of them had heard about it.
Two young men from Vietnam stopped by. Both had already signed the petition. They were interested in Falun Gong and asked for introductory materials to learn more.
One Finnish young man was shocked to learn that such atrocities were still ongoing. He wanted to follow the news and do his best to help stop the persecution.
Some passersby signed the petition, and went to get their friends to come sign as well.
