“Dafa disciples have a duty and must, no matter what, fulfill the vows that brought them to this world. For it was on that account that you once pledged your life as a god and were thus allowed to become today the most magnificent kind of being in the cosmos—a disciple of Dafa.” (“To the European Fa Conference” from The Essentials Of Diligent Progress Vol. III)
Master's words have been echoing in my ears, and have also become the driving force behind my installing satellite dishes for receiving NTD television programs for people. While cooperating with other practitioners involved in the installation, we have experienced many hardships and also great successes.
I am a handyman. Thus, I come into contact with many people. When clarifying the facts about Dafa, I also introduce the NTD television programs. Master's arrangements allowed us to set up a team for installing satellite dishes for receiving the NTD programs. We are not afraid of hardship and encourage and support each other. Therefore, this project has been running smoothly for close to five years.
The dish is large enough so that our customers can receive about 50 domestic channels, plus the NTD programs. In the beginning, we provided free installation and maintenance service. Later, we started charging some customers, depending on their circumstances.
For the sake of safety, we use only cell phones dedicated strictly to installation-related matters. As such, we leave a contact number for the customers. We’ve also installed the dishes in remote villages, and those villagers encouraged others to have a dish installed as well.
We’ve installed dishes for more than 1,000 households in our county and township. Influenced by regular people, a few secretaries from the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) committees also had us install a dish for them. Thus, our installation work could be done in a more open manner.
After providing maintenance service, some villagers really learned a lot. “After we watch the NTD programs, we get together and talk about what we have seen.” One villager told us, “We wonder which corrupt CCP official will have to step down next. The CCP is too evil for harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.”
We realized the situation was just like Master said: “Awareness of Dafa is spreading to each house.” (“Glimpses of Goodness” from Hong Yin III)
Practitioners from one township cooperated very well with us. They took orders and I installed the dishes. They then learned how to do the installations and maintenance themselves and now no longer need us in their area.
When doing an installation in a village one time, it was freezing—yet, we felt warm. It was just like what Master said:
“The things that Dafa disciples throughout the world have done are so stirring and inspiring, only they haven't been made into a film in this world. But there are films of you in the cosmos.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference VIII)
Two practitioners in our county were arrested for clarifying the facts to people. We agreed to rescue them.
Our driver was very busy and thus relaxed his cultivation. When he came to my home, he could not sit still when sending forth righteous thoughts. I felt that his dimensional field was not clean.
Even so, I never thought about having him stop being involved, but instead asked him to focus on Fa study. When he and other practitioners went to a village for an installation, they were reported to the police. Two practitioners escaped, while two were arrested and taken to a local police station.
I drove to that township. On arrival, I contacted practitioners from my city and county, and I asked them to send forth righteous thoughts. I also called my contact working at the municipal government for help. He told me where the two practitioners were detained.
The practitioners we found out were taken to the county police department. My contact from the municipal department agreed to get involved. He got a hold of the secretary of the 610 Office and asked him to release the practitioners. We also got their family members involved. With the help of fellow practitioners and ordinary people, both practitioners were released that night.
Even though they were released, my heart was heavy. When I looked inward, I realized that I was too attached to my ego and did not pay attention to other practitioners' safety.
What’s more, Master had enlightened my family member about this incident in a dream about 20 days prior. When this person told me about the dream, it did not catch my attention.
One day after these practitioners were rescued, my family member and I went to that village where they were arrested, put up sticky notes, which said Falun Dafa is good and distributed more Dafa materials.
Master said:
“The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference” from Boston in Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
I have found many attachments, such as worshiping others, a competitive mentality, jealousy, zealotry, a show-off mentality, lust, lacking concern about safety, lacking consideration for others, and so on. They were loopholes that could open a window for the old forces to persecute us. However, when it comes to saving people, we can't wait. So we did not stop doing installations.
One of the practitioners who was arrested asked to share with me. During our sharing, all practitioners pointed their fingers at me. I realized that I was afraid of being criticized. This was another ploy by the old forces to stop us from saving people and to drag practitioners down.
Master said:
“I'm saying that I don't acknowledge the old forces' interfering with Dafa disciples, because the Dafa disciples are my disciples, and nobody else is worthy of handling them.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference VI)
After that, we adjusted our states of mind, and we continued installing the satellite dishes.
Master said:
“Cultivation is hard. It’s hard in that even when a terrible calamity strikes, even when evil madly persecutes, and even when your life is at stake, you still have to be able to steadfastly continue on your path of cultivation without letting anything in human society interfere with the steps you take on your path of cultivation.” (“Path” from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
In the story, Journey to the West, Buddha said to the Monkey King: “Monkey, you have been working hard throughout the journey and have not stopped until the end. I will grant you a Buddha title.”
It is just as Master said, “We started it and ended it well” (“Teaching the Fa and Answering Questions in Guangzhou” from Zhuan Falun Fajie), which is so important in gods' eyes. Thus, no matter what we do, we must stick with it until the end.
This sharing is for uncovering our shortfalls in our projects, as well as for eliminating the gaps that the old forces have sought to create among practitioners. In this way, we can form one body and accomplish our scared missions.
