(Minghui.org) The Minghui Editorial Board published “What All Dafa Disciples Must Know” on June 30, 2018. I believe it was compassionate Master using practitioners’ words to give a “stick warning” to disciples who were attached to and obsessed with modern deviated factors.
From the Safety Standpoint
Software programs, including WeChat, Tencent QQ, and others present a major safety concern. They are bound to one's private information such as mobile phones, bank cards, or contact information.
Even if one logs in on a computer, one still has to scan with one's phone in order to use them. All communications through the software will be bound to the owner's personal information in the background.
If some sensitive information is revealed when using the software, it is easy to be monitored and targeted. When practitioners contact each other, some might say sensitive words directly. Over time, much information will be seized through surveillance.
Master mentioned this in a recent lecture:
“You know about how phones can be monitored… I can tell you that every mobile phone we carry on us is serving as a listening device. The CCP is sitting there listening in on even your casual conversations, and they hear everything clearly. Every Dafa disciple’s mobile phone is being monitored. So how could anyone think you could go undetected by them? And mobile phone calls are traced very quickly. As soon as you call someone they will get that number and will then start monitoring that phone as well. It’s very rare, if not impossible, for someone not to be identified by them. They will know about you as soon as you participate in a public activity.” (“2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C.”)
Fellow cultivators, how can we not pay heed to Master's earnest admonition? After 19 years of persecution, the bloody lessons that we have learned from not paying attention to safety should be enough to keep us awake.
From the Perspective of Returning to Tradition
Software programs, such as WeChat and Tencent QQ, deviate from tradition. They are the products of aliens.
Master told us:
“So traditional ways are what’s closest to the divine, because they were designed by gods.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the New York Fa Conference Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Dafa’s Spreading”)
Master also told us:
“And yet Dafa disciples are not just unswayed by it all, but moreover, are going against the tide!” (“2018 Fa Teaching Given in Washington, D.C.”)
When we are addicted to the software, at least in this aspect, we have already deviated from the ways of gods, let alone saving and guiding sentient beings.
Learning Its True Nature from the Fa-Rectification’s Standpoint
We all learned that human morality has been declining a thousand miles a day, and human society is corrupt beyond repair. A network of ordinary people is full of degraded and corrupt factors. If we are obsessed with information from WeChat,Tencent QQ, and the others, the most corrupted substances enter our fields through our eyes, ears and other sensory organs.
When we send forth righteous thoughts, we often feel interference and odd thoughts appear. Most of the interference comes from that kind of software. Those polluted sources want to take advantage of us; if we do not clean them out and instead accept them on a daily basis, how can we maintain a pure and tranquil heart and mind?
From the Standpoint of Believing in Master and the Fa
Can we follow the requirement from the Minghui editorial?
Master once said:
“Namely, I’ll talk about, 'Whatever Master wants, that’s what we’ll do.' Truth be told, sometimes your lips will be saying that whatever Master wants, that’s what you will do, but, as soon as you are faced with real-life circumstances, [what you said] gets diluted without your realizing it. You always have your own opinions on things, and think that your opinions match your realities and circumstances. But that’s not true. You mustn’t forget: this current period of history was kept for Fa-rectification, and is given to Dafa disciples to save sentient beings and perfect themselves. It’s not nearly as simple as people imagine it, with human thinking. Another thing is, some people always think, 'What Master wants, we’ll do it, but let’s do it a little better,' and again it’s a case of changing what Master wants. There are human attachments at work whenever that’s the case, and it serves as interference.” (“Be More Diligent”)
We often state that “Whatever Master wants, that’s what we’ll do.” The notification from the Minghui editorial states clearly, “In order to not provide convenience to the Chinese Communist Party's surveillance and monitoring, we urge all Dafa practitioners and Dafa disciples to stop using WeChat, Tencent QQ, iCloud, Skype, and other similar software, regardless of whether you live in mainland China or other countries or regions of the world.” Can we be consistent with Minghui on this major issue?
Some practitioners have a hard time letting go of the software. My job requires me to use them; how would I contact my boss and customers? How will my relatives and friends contact me?
Master mentioned in Zhuan Falun:
“One may wonder: ‘We can’t kill a life, but I’m the cook at home. What will my family eat if I can’t take a life?’ This specific issue does not concern me, as I am teaching the Fa to practitioners instead of casually telling everyday people how to live. With regard to how one should deal with specific issues, you should make a judgment according to Dafa. You should do things however you see fit. Everyday people will do whatever they want to, and that is their business; it is not possible for everyone to truly practice cultivation. As a practitioner, however, one should follow a higher standard, so I am hereby putting forward the requirements for practitioners.”
I realize that we are at the critical moment when the Fa-rectification is approaching the last leg of the journey. It is a good opportunity to look within and dig out the deeply-seated factors that prevent one from deleting this software and make them continue to want to use them.
One should unconditionally let go of one's attachments and advance on the cultivation path. This is what Master wants.
I hope each and every practitioner is able to rectify themselves on the basis of the Fa, abide by the requirement of the Fa, and keep pace with the Fa-rectification.
