(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Guojun, a Falun Gong practitioner from Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, is in critical condition after being imprisoned for two years in Liaoning Women's Prison.
Ms. Li suffered from severe bleeding in early 2018 and has since had two major surgeries. Her family has paid nearly 90,000 yuan in medical expenses for her. They are in the process of securing medical parole for her.
Ms. Li was sentenced to a an eleven year prison term in 2016 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese communist regime who ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.
More than 200 Falun Gong practitioners from Chaoyang City were arrested with Ms. Li in November 2015. Over 50 practitioners were sentenced to prison, with terms ranging from 6 months to 12 years.
Liaoning Women's Prison is notorious for its subjecting practitioners to extreme tortures and forced heavy labor. Many practitioners died as a result of tortures in there.
It was reported that the prison guards tortured Ms. Li by forcing her to wear only a single-layer short sleeve shirt in the freezing winter when the temperature was as low as 12°F, and let the cold wind blow on her.
