Three Elderly Practitioners Arrested in Wuhan City, Their Homes Ransacked

Aug. 29, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Hubei Province, China

(Minghui.org) Three elderly women who practice Falun Dafa were arrested near Wusheng Road around 9 a.m. on July 17, 2018. Their crime? Distributing informational materials about Falun Dafa and the persecution. They were taken to the Liji Road Police Station by a plainclothes officer. After being questioned and harassed, they were released separately that day.

Police Misconduct

Officers searched the women's bags and confiscated all Falun Dafa-related materials, including copies of the book The Ultimate Goal of Communism, and 2,500 yuan in paper bills with information about Dafa printed on them.

They then called in officers from the Qiaokou District Domestic Security Division to take photos of the three practitioners. The officers also forcibly took fingerprints, footprints, and blood samples from the three practitioners.

Ms. Feng

After the police forcibly took fingerprints from Ms. Feng, they ordered her to sign some paperwork. Ms. Feng refused and told them, “You are doing this by force. We will not sign falsified documents.” An officer replied, “Yes, we are using force. Regardless, you have to sign them.”

The Liji Road Police Station notified officials from the Community Residential Committee, where Ms. Feng resides, to come take her home later that afternoon. The residential officials told Ms. Feng to report to their office the following day.

Ms. Feng did not go. The committee officials then came to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated recent articles written by the founder of Falun Dafa, issues of Minghui Weekly, and other materials.

Ms. Zhou

The police also ordered Ms. Zhou to sign some documents. She told them that if she signed, it would only serve as evidence of their crimes. Ms. Zhou was brought back home that evening by officials from her Community Neighborhood Committee, accompanied by her two daughters and two grandsons.

Ms. Liang

Ms. Liang was held until late that night. She was told to sign a list of the items confiscated from her bag. Ms. Liang told them, “I am a good person who is unwavering in my faith. Who do you think you are, telling me to give you my signature?” The young officer turned around and left abruptly without pressing for her signature.

Due to it being late, the officers took Ms. Liang home in a car and ordered her son to give them his phone number and address.

The following day, officials from the Community Residential Committee, where Ms. Liang's son lives, knocked on the door of his home in order to harass his family. The family did not answer nor open the door. The officials eventually left and did not return.
