Things Became Simple When I Truly “Started to Cultivate Myself”

Aug. 5, 2018 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, said in “Be More Diligent”:

“You all need to do this now. Start cultivating yourselves.” (“Be More Diligent”)

These words really shocked me, and I stared at them for a long time. I really wanted to cultivate myself, and I was confident that I could “start cultivating myself.” An amazing thing then happened. I felt a sense of ease come over me that I had not yet experienced in cultivation.

Cultivating myself in the past was a slow and painful process. The experience is now completely different, and I feel that I am raising my level in a timely manner. I was surprised to find that the bad thoughts and notions that I found so difficult to eradicate are now being rapidly broken through. Problems are now quickly resolved and rectified, and I can now quickly and thoroughly let go of the things that I once could not let go.

The Profoundness of Dafa

Everything has become simpler, clearer, easier, and more pure. I have once again experienced the profoundness of Dafa.

Master Li said:

“…a great way is extremely simple and easy.” (The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection)

I had forgotten this principle of the Fa after living in the complex environment of China and enduring years of persecution.

I discovered that at a deep level I had the notion of “wanting to prove myself,” and “being self-centered,” which were stubborn and hard to eliminate. Since I truly “started to cultivate myself,” these attachments have been severed at the root, with only small traces left on the surface. Now, as long as I maintain righteous thoughts, bad elements can be quickly removed.

I used to look at others' shortcomings, focusing on things that I was dissatisfied with. Although I knew I shouldn't, these thoughts emerged whenever I encountered problems. For example, when a practitioner was arrested, I could not suppress or eliminate my negative thoughts. I am now able to look inward immediately, find my shortcomings, find ways to improve, and solve the problem efficiently.

When I could not agree with practitioners on certain issues in the past, I became passive or avoided the issue. I felt sad and wronged when practitioners misunderstood me. When I encountered problems in daily life, I went around in circles, taking a long time to solve the problem. I now feel connected to the mechanism of “cultivating myself,” so I automatically look inward when a problem arises, and I am more tolerant and peaceful.

If we can all “cultivate ourselves” well, then every practitioner will be extraordinary; we will be able to cooperate with each other and form “one body.” When the old forces cannot find any loopholes, we become an indestructible force!

“Cultivating myself” has been such a wonderful thing!
