Aug. 7, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Su Qinghua submitted a complaint to the Supreme People's Court in Beijing on July 20, 2018. His whereabouts were unknown, until he sent a message to his family a week later saying that he had just been released from detention.

Past Sentence Rescinded After Two Years in Detention Center

Mr. Su was previously arrested in Chengdu City in September 2015 and detained in the Pi County Detention Center. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the Hi-Tech Development District Court on December 29, 2016.

He appealed, and the higher court found no evidence that he had committed a crime and rescinded his sentence. He was released in August 2017.

Mr. Su was tortured while in detention, and applied for compensation in the early part of 2018. His application was received by the Gaoxin District Court.

Three judges were assigned to his case. He contacted them and was told to wait for further information.

He called the judges again about two months later, as he had not heard anything from them. They denied knowledge of the case, and one of the judges has been transferred to another jurisdiction.

This prompted Mr. Su to submit a complaint to the Supreme People's Court in Beijing.
