(Minghui.org) I am an elderly female practitioner who began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996. I have been protected by Master along every step of my cultivation path, and my family has greatly benefited from Dafa.
I would like to share some stories about people who began new lives after learning about Falun Dafa.
A young officer from the urban management reported me to the authorities in January 2009 when they saw me talking to people about Falun Dafa. I was arrested and taken to a detention center.
I didn't sleep during my first night there, as I was talking all night with two young women in my cell. The women hated each other, and had serious conflicts between their small businesses. Both of them had been arrested, and had been alone together in the cell before I arrived. The atmosphere was tense.
“What can you gain by practicing Falun Dafa?” one of them asked. “Why do you still practice after the government has banned it? Does your family approve of your practice?” asked the other.
I answered their questions one by one, and they soon forgot about their hatred toward each other while we talked.
I advised them to remember “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and that they would be released soon if they could calmed down. They both seemed happy to hear that.
I told them ancient stories about mutual tolerance, stories of Falun Dafa practitioners foregoing personal benefits, and my personal story of giving up my land to let my neighbor build a house. I explained the heavenly principle of “no loss, no gain.”
I knew they had resolved their hatred when they both smiled. I told them to ask a guard to relay a message to the officials, that it will soon be the Chinese New Year, and they have decided to reconcile and stop fighting. They wish to return home to spend the holiday with their families.
Officers from the local police station arrived a couple days later to escort them home. They both quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations that they had joined in the past and shook hands with me gratefully.
I couldn't sleep on the second night at the detention either, as six young girls, in their early teens to their mid 20s, were put in a neighboring cell. They were drug-addicts arrested for prostitution.
They screamed crazily, as they were affected by drug abuse and lust. They flirted with neighboring inmates, using inappropriate language. Guards repeatedly intervened, but their bad behavior continued after the guards left.
I chatted with them in the yard during a break the next day. I asked them, “Why did you yell so disgracefully last night? Didn’t you feel ashamed when cursed at by the guards?”
“We were venting our anger,” one of them replied. “We're used to being cursed at.”
I felt very sad. I told them that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner, and was detained because of the persecution.
“Granny, you are a good person,” one of the girls told me. “You're different from us.”
I told them that I was there to help them obtain salvation. I asked if they wanted to change and become good people. They said they were too bad to be saved.
“I have a solution,” I said. “If you develop righteous belief, you can totally change yourselves. You are all beautiful. You all came from higher levels, and you came to this world to assimilate to Falun Dafa and be saved.”
They partially understood what I said, and one of them began to shed tears.
I said to them, “Remember that Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good. Gods and Buddhas will protect you and save you from drugs and lewd actions.”
When the guards came to take us back to the cells, they saw the girls surrounding me and listening quietly. When they questioned what we were doing, I said that I was counseling them, and advising them to stop committing bad deeds and to become more righteous.
All of the girls asked the guards to be transferred to my cell. The guards agreed, seeing that I was the only one who could quiet them. All six of them came to my cell after dinner that evening. I welcome them, but warned them to keep their voices down. They all promised to do so.
I continued telling them to recite, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I answered their many questions about Falun Dafa, and told them about the self-immolation hoax on Tiananmen Square, the miracles experienced by Falun Dafa practitioners, and stories of good and evil meeting with due returns.
They listened attentively, as one of them said, “This is the first time I've ever heard such good things.”
They asked me how I knew so much. I said that it was all taught to me by my Master. They were very quiet the entire night, and slept soundly. The guards noticed, and the young women were allowed to remain in my cell.
A guard told me to discipline them. I led the girls in cleaning and taught them to fold blankets. When they felt cold, I had them sit in a circle and recite, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They soon felt warm.
One of them was taken to meet a visitor one afternoon, and returned with a joint (a cigarette containing cannabis) that she got from the visitor. Three of the girls then gathered around her.
“What are you doing!?” I asked in a firm voice, and ordered them to throw the drugs in the toilet. They hesitated at first, but the one with the joint threw it into the toilet.
I told them to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” often in order to overcome their drug addiction.
I helped five of them quit the CCP organizations.
I taught them some songs composed by Dafa practitioners, and they tried to follow along when I exercised. The young inmates gained a better understanding about Falun Dafa and improved their behavior. The guards were surprised and looked at me with admiration.
The detention center received international phone calls demanding my release. Under the protection of Master, I returned home six days early.
While I was talking to someone at a railway station about Falun Dafa, I saw a middle-aged woman crying at the ticket desk. I approached her and asked her what was wrong.
We went to a quiet place nearby to talk. She told me that she had been beaten by her husband and his brother, and was headed to her parents' town to gather support to fight back.
“Don’t fight anymore,” I said. “No matter who is hurt, the loss will only grow.”
She said that she couldn't tolerate the mistreatment.
“It's good to endure hardship,” I replied. “By enduring, you erase your karma. Otherwise, you may incur bigger losses. I learned from the teachings of Falun Dafa, and all of my illnesses have disappeared. I feel happy now, and know to endure when conflicts arise.”
“You're such a good person!” she said, as she started to calm down. Her anger disappeared, and she shook my hand.
I told her that Falun Dafa teaches people to be good. I helped her to quit the Young Pioneers, a CCP organization that she had joined in the past, and gave her a Dafa amulet.
She sincerely thanked me, and repeated the words, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” as we departed.
