Falun Gong Practitioners Targeted in Communist Regime's Gang Crackdown Campaign

Sept. 29, 2018 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Recent months have seen a spike of arrests and harassment of Falun Gong practitioners across China.

In the campaign launched by the communist regime to crack down on gangs, police have instead targeted Falun Gong practitioners to fulfill their quota in some regions.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body discipline with the principles of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” that has been severely persecuted by the communist regime since 1999. The regime had orchestrated intensive propaganda campaigns to demonize the practitioners, in order to provide justification for the persecution.

In Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, police posted information about the anti-criminal gang campaign around the city since early July 2018. The police and staff members from neighborhood committees went door to door to collect personal information from local residents.

The Guangdong Province 610 Office (an extralegal agency created specially to persecute Falun Gong) created a public page on the social media platform WeChat to continue the propaganda campaign attacking Falun Gong. All middle school students and their parents were required to subscribe to the page and share it with their friends.

It has been confirmed that Ms. Kuang Liying, an employee from Dongguang Electric Power Company, was arrested in mid-July for practicing Falun Gong. Her whereabouts remained unknown to her family at the time of writing.
