Oct. 14, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Hunan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Mr. Peng Boxiang, a Taoyuan County, Hunan Province resident, died less than a month after being released on medical parole after 11 years of imprisonment for his faith in Falun Gong.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Peng, a mortgage director at Taoyuan Agricultural Bank, was a volunteer assistant for local Falun Gong activities before the persecution began. Because he refused to renounce his faith, he was fired from his job and spent 15 years behind bars.

Mr. Peng was given two labor camp terms. One year on October 16, 2000 and three years on January 9, 2003. He was subjected to inhumane torture at Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp.

Only two years after being released, he was arrested again prior to the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and sentenced to thirteen years in prison on September 4, 2009.

After 11 years of incarceration and torture at Jinshi Prison, Mr. Peng was on the verge of death, and released on medical parole in July 2019. The authorities strictly monitored him and didn't allow him to contact any local Falun Gong practitioners.

He passed away in August 2019, at the age of 63.
