(Minghui.org) Over the past 20 years, many Falun Gong practitioners were detained at the Yingkou Center Detention Center. The officials of the detention center actively persecuted the practitioners, and routinely tortured them.
Many practitioners were maimed as a result of torture, including then 38-year-old Mr. Li Wei. He went through appalling humiliation and physical abuse. Both of his nipples were cut off.
The commonly used torture methods included beatings, being tied to a bed, sleep deprivation, forced-feeding, and long hours of hard labor every day.
Mr. Li Wei, 38, was taken to the detention center in July 2003. The guards and inmates often beat him. He was also tied to a bed and had to wear shackles. His chest and head were injured, his legs were swollen, and his vision became blurry.
The inmates also once poured a pot of boiling water onto his body, causing scalding on his chest and abdomen. On another occasion, they burned his hands and feet with cigarette lighters.
The inmates, the prison doctors, and the guards often verbally abused him, and he was put under great pressure. He often had headaches, acute anxiety syndrome, and could not sleep at night. He could not take care of himself for some time.
Despite his condition, the inmates did not stop humiliating him. They rubbed pepper oil into his eyes, nostrils and private part. They kicked and stepped on his private part, cut off his nipples with pliers, cut several places of his body, including his private part, and the blood was all over his pants.
They once hit his eyes really hard with their palms, slamming his head against the wall. He lost consciousness. Then two inmates lifted him up and threw him onto the floor several times to wake him up.
Li Wei was also forced to do hard labor at the detention center. Later, he was sentenced to a three-year term with three years of probation.
Mr. Wang Baojin Tortured to Death
Mr. Wang Baojin was 38 years old when he was arrested, and taken to the Yingkou City Detention Center in 2002. Because he did the Falun Gong exercises and went on a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention, he was beaten and tied to a bed several times. The longest time he was tied to the bed was two weeks.
Mr. Wang developed inflammation of the chest cavity lining, and he was in critical condition. He was taken for emergency treatment and had to be on infusions for several months. Mr. Wang was later sentenced to 10 years in prison and was persecuted to death while in prison.
Mr. Gen Caibin Beaten
Mr. Geng Caibin was 62 when he was arrested, and taken to a detention center in June 2003. The guards beat him with leather belts because he did the Falun Gong exercises, and his body was bruised. Because of his injuries, he could only complete half of his work quota, so he was also forced to work late into the night and deprived of sleep. He was later sentenced to five years in prison.
Mr. Geng Chunlong Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison
Mr. Geng Chunlong was 32 when taken to the detention center in July 2003. The guards tied him to a bed for two days, because he refused to renounce his faith. To punish him, the guards did not allow other practitioners to give him any clothes or food since he did not bring them himself. Mr. Geng was later sentenced to a 10-year prison term.
Mr. Xiao Heyun Sentenced to a Three Year Prison Term
Mr. Xiao Heyun was 67 when taken to a detention center on June 16, 2014. He refused to wear the prison uniform to protest the illegal detention, so he was handcuffed and tied to the bed around the clock for six days. The handcuffs cut into his flesh, which was extremely painful. He was often beaten. His front teeth were knocked out. He was sentenced to a three-year year prison term.
Ms. Jiao Guizhen was transferred to a detention center on April 18, 2012. She held a hunger strike to protect the unlawful treatment and was force-fed a soymilk drink, which contained an extremely high concentration of salt. She was sentenced to four years in prison.
