Nov. 6, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province, China

(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a native of Jilin Province has been imprisoned for more than a year for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Huang Shaofen, around 65, was arrested in June 2017 after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong, while visiting her son in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.

The police confiscated her printer and Falun Gong materials and held her at Anbao Detention Center.

Her family paid hundreds of thousands of yuan to people involved in her prosecution after they threatened to sentence her to five years if the requested amount was not paid.

Ms. Huang appeared in court on December 15, 2017 and later sentenced to three years in prison. She was sent to Guangzhou City Women’s Prison in 2018.

According to her family who recently visited her, the prison officials forced her to read brainwashing books and regularly write thought reports, in their attempt to make her renounce Falun Gong.
