(Minghui.org) My neighbor asked me to help him install a greenhouse roof cover in July 2018. The cover was 120 meters long and 13 meters wide. We had to install it on top of the greenhouse, which was 4 meters above the ground.
I was standing on top of the roof when a sudden gust of wind shifted the cover and I fell off the roof. When I hit the ground, I heard a loud sound before I passed out.
When I regained consciousness, I said to Master [Li Hongzhi] in my mind, “Master, please help me. Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Right after I felt I could move, I tried to stand up three times but failed. However, I was very clear that I was fine and kept repeating to myself, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
The owner of the house I was working on was in a panic when he heard what had happened. He carefully put me into a car and drove me to the village clinic. My feet were swollen and had turned black. The doctor there said, “I don't know if your inner organs are injured, but it looks like some bones in your feet are broken. You'd better go to a big hospital.”
On the way to the orthopedic hospital, I continuously reinforced my righteous thoughts. My son came with us.
After a detailed exam, I was told that I had comminuted fractures in both feet and that it was the second time they'd been broken. I then remembered that I'd hurt my feet a couple of years before. I couldn't move at the time, but I knew I was fine since I was a practitioner. I did not seek medical advice and eventually recovered.
The doctors told me that pieces of the broken bones in my feet would have to be removed, ground into powder, and then put back for the bones to heal.
To repair my fourth vertebra, they of course would have to operate. It was a very delicate surgery, however, with no guarantee of success. And if it failed, I would be disabled for the rest of my life.
The doctors recommended surgery. My son asked for my opinion. I told him, “I don't need surgery, I am fine.” I called my wife, who is also a practitioner. For our safety, she didn't say much but briefly told me, “You should be aware that what happened was not an accident, that it was the old forces trying to kill you. Master saved you. You should simply trust Master and the Fa. You decide what to do.” I thought for a bit and told my son that I wanted to go home.
My son consulted a specialist, who said, “It is true that the spine was broken and misaligned, but it is not as bad as the comminuted fracture. You can go home and watch your progress for two months. Surgery may be necessary. However, I would not operate at this time.
The first night at home, my whole body was in great pain, and I couldn't sleep. I kept reciting something Master once said, “It’s hard to endure, but you can endure it. It’s hard to do, but you can do it.”(“Teaching the Fa and Answering Questions In Yanji, Zhuan Falun Fajie, The Law of Zhuan Falun Explained). The next day I felt better.
Although the doctor told me again and again to lie on my back and not on my side, I kept my righteous thoughts, and no matter how I lie down, it was not that painful. When I took a nap at noon, I felt someone was healing my feet. After I woke up, I asked my daughter, “Did you touch my feet?” She said no. A few days later while I was sleeping, I felt warm hands pulling and patting my feet. I realized that it was Master healing my bones.
After I'd been home for 10 days, I had problems defecating, and I was in agony. I begged Master in my mind, “Master, please help me. I know that there are many things I didn't do well. Please forgive me.” Then I repeated, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” Soon, I could pass a stool.
My son was concerned but was pleased to hear that I could defecate and urinate. The doctor had told him that, without surgery, I might not be able to do either ever again.
The owner of the house next door came to see me and brought a pigeon, some presents, and money. I told him, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner and not allowed to kill. Please release the pigeon.” He said, “If you can't, I'll do it for you.” I said, “No, please release it. As a practitioner, I know how bad killing is, and I don't want you to do it.” He came back again a few days later with the pigeon and money, but I did not accept anything.
Several days after that, he sent money to me again. My wife returned it to him and said, “We are Falun Gong practitioners. Our master told us to always think of others first. We won't accept one penny. Please do not try to give us any money. As long as you know Falun Dafa is good, we will be happy.” He was very appreciative and said, “Falun Dafa is really good!”
When I was injured, I couldn't get up. But 40 days later, I could ride an electric bike and do some light labor. It verified what Master said,
“When disciples have ample righteous thoughtsMaster has the power to turn back the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond,” Hong Yin Vol II, Translation Version A)
When I was riding my electric bike, people stopped me and asked, “Did the homeowner pay all your medical expenses?” I replied, “No, I don't need money.” Another one said, “You are really a good person. If that had happened to anyone else, they would have stayed in the hospital as long as possible and extorted as much money as possible. ”
This reminded me of what Master said,
“The crowd that had gathered around after the accident was puzzled that she didn’t try to get money out of the driver. People’s moral values nowadays are in disarray.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun, Version 2018)
Honestly, it was a shame that, as a senior practitioner, I had not quit smoking or drinking before the accident. This time I decided to let go of my attachments and finally quit smoking and drinking.
It is just as Master said, “So whether it is good things or bad things you run into, so long as you cultivate in Dafa, they are all positive, to be sure.” (Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005)
I am an honest farmer and wrote down my experience in simple language. I really truly understand that “my life belongs to Falun Dafa, and only Dafa determines my fate.”
