(Minghui.org) Ms. Wu Peiwen from Shantou City, Guangdong Province, was arrested in November 2018 for practicing Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa). Her arrest was recently approved by the Jinping District Procuratorate, and the 54-year-old now faces sentencing for her belief.
Ms. Wu was arrested at home at around 3 pm on November 28, 2018. A team of more than 30 people broke into and ransacked her home without presenting any identification. She and a few other local Falun Gong practitioners were arrested.
Those who participated in her arrest included Shantou City police bureau chief Zeng Xianglan, Shantou City Domestic Security Division officer Li Dongming, Jinping District police chief Cai Jinrong, Jinping District Domestic Security Division commander Zhu Yang and deputy commander Dai Guotao, and officers from the Shantou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Shantou City 610 Office, Guangxia Police Station, and Guangxia Community Committee.
Ms. Wu Peiwen is detained at the Shantou City Tuopu Detention Center, where she is made to do forced labor. She works every day from breakfast until midnight. If she doesn't finish her assigned labor for the day, she is forced to clean the bathrooms as a punishment. Her workload continues to increase, which has led to a decline in her health.
When Ms. Wu was only 19 years old, she developed a severe lung disease that tormented her for the next 13 years. She tried every possible medication and treatment, but nothing worked. Her life was filled with pain until she was introduced to Falun Gong in 1998.
Just a few days after she took up the practice, her complexion became rosy, and she was able to walk without help. She gradually regained her health and has not had to take any medication for the past 20 years. Her life turned around completely, and her friends and family saw the wonder of Falun Gong.
Ms. Wu strives to become a better person as required by the practice's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. For example, when she was hit by a car, she did not exploit the situation by taking money from the driver.
