(Minghui.org) As Fa-rectification approaches the end, the evil elements persecuting Falun Dafa went from arresting practitioners to tormenting practitioners with illnesses tribulations. It’s all for one purpose and that is to persecute our physical bodies to interfere with Fa-rectification. Knowing this, we must be rational and clearheaded when it comes to helping practitioners who struggle with sickness karma.
Liu was a local practitioner who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two years ago, the doctor said that she had only a few months left to live. However with Fa study and help from Master and fellow practitioners, Liu made it. A few months later she was fine. Later, her breast festered and a large amount of pus seeped from the sore, which smelled terrible. Liu continued to study the Fa well and again she recovered. Miracles of Falun Dafa manifested in her and her experience became a powerful tool to validate the Fa.
It’s been a year since she recovered but two practitioners still go to her place to do chores and cook for her. I once asked one of the two practitioners whether Liu had children. I learned that she had two. The practitioner also told me why her children wouldn’t take care of their mother. “When she was really ill and her family wanted her hospitalized, a practitioner wouldn’t allow it. As a result, her family accused the practitioner of wrongdoing and stopped assuming the responsibility of taking care of Liu.”
I used to admire those who went out of their way to help Liu. Now I had doubts. Although Liu was able to negate the old forces’ arrangement and saved her physical body, two practitioners were trapped into doing her household chores and as a result, unable to clarify the truth.
Master says,
“The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts.” (“Drive Out Interference,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
In my opinion, the one thing we must do when helping a practitioner struggling with sickness karma is to guide and support him/her to assimilate to the Fa. The evil elements wouldn’t have gaps to exploit if a practitioners' every thought was based on the Fa. At the same time, we must help the practitioner to discover their fundamental attachment that led to the sickness karma and eliminate it with righteous thoughts.
Hence, Liu herself should have decided whether she wanted to go to a hospital or not. The accompanying practitioner could offer suggestions and discuss the issue based on the Fa. Ultimately, Liu and her family should make the decision. This way, things wouldn’t be so complicated now.
There was another practitioner, whose mother was blind. She carefully tended her mother for years. After her mother passed away, her husband went blind. She had to take care of everything for him. Her son got married and had a child. Now she had to tend to the family of three.
Three months ago, one of her eyes went blind and the vision in the other eye was blurry. She was going to get an operation. A practitioner took her home and studied the Fa and sent righteous thoughts with her. Twelve days later she still decided to go to a hospital for surgery. Her condition worsened after the surgery. Even so, some practitioners were still helping her, some went to her home to study the Fa with her and some cooked for her.
The other day, the practitioner came to my place and we studied the Fa. That morning she could barely focus and only studied for ten minutes. The rest of the time she was either lying down on the couch or on the bed. Then she wanted me to take her home. When I offered her lunch, she asked me to cook for her husband at her place since she was unable to do so. I didn’t do so but took her home.
Master says,
“I have long pondered, “What am I going to do with you students who are still not rational at this point?” I can help you eliminate a great deal of karma, but you must face on your own what you are to face, and neither Master nor anyone else can do so on your behalf. You have to, yourself, get through the attachments that are to be removed and the tests that need to be passed.” (“Be Vigilant,” Essentials for Further Advancement III)
My experience is to remind everyone that we must be rational and clearheaded. This way we can better assimilate to the Fa, walk our paths, and save more people.
