(Minghui.org) One Falun Gong practitioner targeted during a mass arrest in Heilongjiang Province last year is now facing further prosecution for his faith.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Wang De, 65, a resident of Bin County, Harbin City, was arrested on November 9, 2018. Another 118 Falun Gong practitioners in Harbin and Daqing cities were also arrested on the same day.
The police ransacked Mr. Wang's home and confiscated his Falun Gong books, which were used as evidence by the police to submit charges against him.
The Bin County Detention Center has denied family visits of Mr. Wang. His family later hired a lawyer to represent him. When the lawyer visited Mr. Wang at the detention center, Mr. Wang said that his case had been submitted to Yilan Procuratorate and that the prosecutor was planning to indict him and submit his case to Yilan Court soon.
At the lawyer's repeated request, the prosecutor agreed to mail Mr. Wang's case document to him.
Life Renewed by Falun Gong
Mr. Wang lost his mother when he was a child. Because he often didn't have enough to eat, he developed severe stomach problems and had to be very picky about what he ate.
Without proper care and discipline from his parents, he developed many bad habits, including drinking, smoking and gambling, which continued into his adulthood. His wife tried to break his bad habits, but to no avail.
To improve his health, Mr. Wang learned Falun Gong. His stomach problems and rheumatism soon disappeared. He got rid of the bad habits and became honest, considerate and hardworking. The tension between him and his wife was gone. Many of his relatives who used to stay away from him began to talk to him again.
