Don't Casually Comment on Fellow Practitioners Going Through Tribulations

June 8, 2019 |   By Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) A practitioner mentioned to me that she could never discuss her shortcomings with fellow practitioners anymore. She felt vulnerable because after she shared her frustrations with them, they would bring up and comment on her mistakes all the time. She felt that she could not trust them anymore.

This practitioner was later arrested. But I wondered: was she the only one who had a loophole?

When fellow practitioners learned that she was arrested, they busied themselves listing her shortcomings. I felt awful because I'd had a similar experience myself. When I was in the middle of the tribulation, I went through the same thing—other practitioners judged and commented on me.

I've noticed that certain practitioners enjoy talking about others, particularly their shortcomings. Some practitioners use such opportunities to complain about others.

As a group, we are supposed to be a unified whole. When fellow practitioners encounter tribulations, we should sit down and think of ways to help and support them. Why would we choose to reinforce the negativity and intensify their tribulation?

To me, comments like these reflect the speaker's selfishness and need to show off. It is a form of Communist Party culture. I understand that Master wants us to help each other and improve together. Casually talking about people behind their backs doesn't help anything.

I remember in the early years of the persecution, three practitioners worked together to clarify the facts. When two of them were arrested, the third practitioner, who'd escaped arrest, was so sad that she couldn't eat for several days. Back then I couldn't quite understand why she had such feelings. But now I can relate to it because we all have the same heart and we care about each other.

When a fellow practitioner is in trouble, we should all look within and rectify ourselves based on the Fa. Just because we are not enduring a tribulation ourselves does not mean we are problem-free. Precisely because we know what it means to a practitioner when he or she is going through a tribulation, we should sincerely help her. Only then can we form one body with no loopholes for the old forces to seize upon.
