(Minghui.org) Five of the more than fifty Falun Gong practitioners in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province arrested on November 9, 2018 are facing further prosecution for their faith.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

While the five practitioners were initially released on bail due to their physical conditions, the authorities are attempting to put them on trial for their faith.

One Taken Back Into Custody

Ms. Li Bingying, nearly 70, has been frequently harassed by the police after she was released on November 24, 2018, after 15 days of detention. She has been taken back to Daqing City Detention Center in April 2019 and held there since.

Three Forced to Live Away from Home

Mr. Bai Yufu, in his 60s, was informed by the police in late May 2019 to go to Ranghu District Procuratorate to fill out a form for his indictment. He refused to comply.

The police brought him to Ranghu District Court where he was told that he was scheduled to appear in court soon and that he'd be sentenced to three to seven years in prison. Mr. Bai was then brought to the hospital for a check-up and found to have high blood pressure at 240 mmHg.

After Mr. Bai was rejected admission again and released, he decided to live away from home to hide from the police.

Meanwhile, judge Feng Guang threatened Ms. Ren Yuhong's sister and son that they would lose their jobs if they failed to take Ms. Ren to the court. Fearing being implicated, they pressured Ms. Ren to go to the court.

While Ms. Ren refused to cooperate with the authorities, she suffered a medical episode and was sent to the hospital for resuscitation. The doctor said she had high blood pressure and not suitable for detention.

Judge Feng ordered Ms. Ren taken to another hospital for examination, and he was told again that she wasn't qualified to be detained. Ms. Ren was released on bail again.

Shortly after that, Ms. Ren received a notice from the court on May 30, 2019 that she was scheduled to appear in court on June 3. She also decided to move away to avoid imprisonment.

In addition to Ms. Ren, another practitioner, Ms. Zheng Hongjun, who suffered an episode of heart condition during the arrest, also left home to hide from the police, after she received a notice from the court to get a physical exam at the hospital.

Fifth One on Bail Awaiting Trial

Ms. Ding Lihua, nearly 70, was brought to the local courthouse and then taken to the hospital for a physical exam. She was rejected detention again and then sent back home.
