Sept. 19, 2019 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) A disabled man in Suibin County, Heilongjiang Province was recently imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong. Authorities have refused to disclose his detention location to his wife.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Wang Chengjia, 59, was arrested on May 7, 2018 by officers from Suibin County Domestic Security Division. His wife, Ms. Yang Chunxia, and another practitioner, Ms. Liu Yuying, were also arrested.

The police ransacked Mr. Wang's home and confiscated his Falun Gong related materials, computer and printer, as well as 20,000 yuan in cash.

Ms. Yang was released on bail 15 days later after she failed the physical examination required for detention. Ms. Liu was sent to Hegang City Detention Center.

It wasn't clear whether Mr. Wang, who is paralyzed due to spine fracture occurred in a work related accident more than twenty years ago, was held in detention before he and Ms. Yang, and Ms. Liu appeared in Suibin County Court on August 15, 2019.

Both Mr. Wang and Ms. Yang were sentenced to one year. Ms. Liu got three years.

Officers from the Domestic Security Division went to the couple's home on September 10, 2019 and deceived them into going with them to a hospital for a checkup by promising to return the 20,000 yuan cash confiscated during the home raid.

Soon after they went to the hospital, the police took Mr. Wang into custody. The police also attempted to send Ms. Yang to the detention center, but she was rejected admission again for her physical condition.

Ms. Yang went to inquire about her husband's detention location, but the police refused to provide such information.

Mr. Wang began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. He has been bedridden for the past two decades and relies on Ms. Yang to provide care for him.

Officers from Domestic Security Division often harassed him for practicing Falun Gong.
