(Minghui.org) Three more Falun Gong practitioners in Dalian City, Liaoning Province targeted in a group arrest in 2018 were recently sentenced to 8 to 8.5 years in prison.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Xu Yanxia, 56, was sentenced to 8.5 years by Gaoxinyuan District Court. She has appealed the verdict.
Ms. Chen Yuerong, 62, was sentenced to 8 years by Ganjingzi District Court.
Mr. Zhang Kexin, 41, was sentenced to 8 years by Shahekou District Court. He has also appealed the verdict.
The three practitioners were arrested on November 12, 2018, together with 20 other locals for their faith in Falun Gong. The Dalian 610 Office, an extralegal agency created specifically to persecute Falun Gong, monitored the practitioners for months before ordering the police to arrest them.
While most of the practitioners were released shortly after the arrests, the aforementioned three practitioners and five others remained in custody and faced further prosecution.
To date, seven of the eight practitioners have been sentenced to prison and one was released on bail after one year of detention.
Ms. Song Xuecun, 70, was sentenced to eight years by Shahekou District Court.
Ms. Cheng Yurong, 72, was sentenced to four years by Ganjingzi District Court. She was sent to Liaoning Women’s Prison on October 22, 2019.
Ms. Jiang Lianxiang, 67, was sentenced to three years and three months by Xigang District Court. She was also sent to Liaoning Women’s Prison on October 22, 2019.
Ms. Song Shuchun, 71, was sentenced to three years with four years probation. She was released on December 11, 2019.
Ms. Wang Junying, 52, was released on bail on October 30, 2019.
