(Minghui.org) A 75-year-old resident of Xinxiang City, Henan Province was verbally abused, beaten and held in solitary confinement while serving time for her faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual discipline based on the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. It has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999 due to its popularity.
Ms. Liang Yuying was sent to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison in 2016. It’s not clear when she was arrested and how long her term is.
Because of Ms. Liang’s shouting “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good” in late September 2019, two inmates beat her and caused her to faint. Her head was covered with blood.
The guards then sent Ms. Liang to a solitary confinement cell on October 19, 2019. The head of the prison verbally abused her on the way to solitary confinement.
During the one-month detention in solitary confinement, Ms. Liang was only given half of a steamed bun for each meal. She was terribly emaciated when she was finally let out. Suffering from serious malnutrition, she was unable to stand up and had a nearly 90 degree hunchback.
Ordered by the prison guards, the inmates often verbally abused Ms. Liang and pinched her, causing bruises all over her body.
Because Ms. Liang didn’t cooperate with the guards during a search of her cell, Wang Yanfu, a guard director, ordered the inmates to look for paprika to torture Ms. Liang. They later gave up after failing to find any.
A guard surnamed Wang verbally abused several Falun Gong practitioners when they refused to squat during a cell search on April 9, 2020. Wang also often beat people arbitrarily.
