(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 54 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Falun Gong practitioners in Kongtong District, Jingchuan County, Huating County and other areas were harassed by personnel from the 610 Office, the Judicial Bureau, neighborhood administration offices, communities, and township police stations between May and October 2020. The practitioners were forced to sign the three statements renouncing Falun Gong.
Ms. Liu Juanying in Jingchuan County was forced to leave town and become displaced after being repeatedly persecuted by the 610 Office, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the Domestic Security Division. Officials coaxed, pressured, and threatened her family members in order to locate her.
After they found and brought Ms. Liu back from out of town, the officials continued to come to her home to harass her.
Almost every few days, village officials, community members, and work unit leaders would come to Ms. Xue Yueying’s home in Jingchuan County. They demanded that she sign guarantee statements and threatened to send her to a brainwashing center if she did not comply.
Recently, the County 610 Office, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the Domestic Security Division, the community, and the police station have put pressure on family members’ work units to force them to talk Ms. Zhang Yinmei into signing statements and giving up her belief.
The Daxing Court tried Mr. Shi Yingji on November 5, 2020. His family members were not allowed to attend the trial, and only his defense lawyer was present. He appeared in court in quarantine clothes.
Mr. Shi defended his innocence. His lawyer focused on the multiple procedural violations committed by the police and prosecutors throughout his case. The lawyer concluded that the case was wrongly filed and demanded that the court record all arguments completely so that the court record would serve as a record of their violating the law. The entire trial lasted about an hour and half. The prosecutor and the judge did not interrupt Mr. Shi or his lawyer during their defense.
Practitioner Che Guohong (gender unknown) was arrested by Pei Jiangling, head of the Xunke County Domestic Security Division, and other officers when distributing Falun Gong materials on the evening of April 8, 2020. Che was released the following day.
The case was turned over to the Procuratorate on September 26. Che Guohong was arrested again and taken to the Heihe City Detention Center on November 4.
Several officers from the Xiangyong Police Station, Yongxing County, broke into Ms. Zeng Cuixiang’s home at around 7 p.m. on September 26, 2020. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, and copies of Minghui Weekly.
On the morning of November 4, Ms. Zeng bought vegetables from Xiangyong Market and headed home. When she was almost home, she was arrested by officers from the Xiangyong Police Station. Around 9 p.m. that evening, she was taken to the Yongxing County Detention Center for 12 days of detention.
Zhao Qingmian, a staff member of the Dingningdian Town Government, and Zhao Zhanliang, a security officer for Dingning Village, went to Ms. Jia Minying’s home on the morning of October 30, 2020 and harassed her. They asked her if she still practiced Falun Gong and tried to take pictures of her. Ms. Jia firmly resisted.
Zhang Xuehao, Party secretary of Chengezhuang Village, Dawangguzhuang Town, Wuqing District, went to Ms. Jia Wenli’s home on the evening of October 21, 2020 and harassed her.
The Party secretary and another person from the Dawangguzhuang Town government, led by Daying Village Party secretary Wang Hongxia, and village security director Dong Baoshan, went to Ms. Dong Yuling’s home to take pictures with a cell phone. They also pressured her to sign some paperwork.
Ms. Jia Wanqin, in her 90s, from Dongzhangying Village, Chengguan Town, lives with her daughter in Shuihuopu Village. On the afternoon of October 24, Ms. Jia was at home by herself when Shuihuopu Village Party secretary Zhang Zongshan and village security director Wang Shulei arrived and tried to force her to say that she would not practice Falun Gong.
Mr. Song Baoyu of the Yuanbaoshan District was arrested by officers from the Dianchang Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong around July 5, 2020. He was later released.
On July 15, the police station summoned Mr. Song and detained him for five days. On the afternoon of the day after he was released, the police told him that his signature was needed on some paperwork. Mr. Song was deceived into going to the police station, then was taken to the detention center. He has been held there for over three months. It was reported that his case was turned over to the Yuanbaoshan District Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhong Hongqin was arrested and taken to the Kouzhuang Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong at Chenguanying farmers market in Kouzhuang Township on the morning of November 6, 2020. She handed out Falun Gong informational materials to a young man who turned out to be a plainclothes policer officer.
Qi, Party secretary of the Lalin Town Government, Ma Zhuo, a police officer, and Ren, director of Railroad Street, went to Ms. Liu Yaqin’s home and tried to force her to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.
Seven or eight people from the Nanquan Town government and village committee in Shifang City went to Mr. Zhu Chaobin’s home and harassed him on November 5, 2020. They tried to get him to change his belief. Mr. Zhu rejected their demand and clarified the truth to them. They knew their demand was unreasonable and left.
Liu, director of the Quanhu Town Police Station, led by Liu Gaoli, Party secretary of Shangbai Village, and Luo Cuihua, village head, went to the home of practitioner Luo Gui (gender unknown) at noon on October 29, 2020. They told Luo to write the three statements, which Luo refused.
Before long, Liu went downstairs to greet the two heads of the Hengnan County Domestic Security Division, who did not show any identification or search warrant. As soon as the two entered the house, they took down the picture of the founder of Falun Gong hanging on the wall.
Then three other people searched the rice bucket, rice bag, and closet, and confiscated Falun Dafa books, tapes of lectures given by the founder of Falun Gong, and DVDs.
Ms. Gu Qiaoling of Xingkaihu Farm was arrested by the Xingkaihu Farm police while talking to people about Falun Gong at the farm’s farmers market on the afternoon of September 30, 2020.
Ms. Gu’s husband Mr. Zhu Xueshuang was called to go to the police station before 6 p.m. Yang Jun, director of the police station, interrogated the couple between 9 and 10 p.m. that evening. Mr. Zhu refused to sign anything. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated a large number of personal items.
The couple were taken to the Jixi City Detention Center on the morning of October 1. Mr. Zhu was held in the Jixi City Detention Center for 20 days, and then transferred to the Mishan City Detention Center for 10 days. He returned home on October 31.
Feng Hui, head of the Law and Order Division, and other people went to the couple’s home at around 6 p.m. on November 6. They ordered Mr. Zhu to sign the official arrest warrant of Ms. Gu, which he refused.
In Ms. Kang Qianhua’s residence, cameras were found on November 6, 2020, at the entrance of the unit as well as hidden behind safety signs on the first and second floors.
Since Ms. Kang’s release from the detention center on May 14, 2019, she has been followed by someone whenever she went out. Almost every month, officers from the Yanjiaping Police Station or Beiyuan Community workers would come to her home to harass her.
Ms. Guo Shuwen was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on September 16, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Zhonghua South Road Police Station. The officers took away personal belongings she carried.
After taking pictures of her and verifying her identity, eight officers from the police station and the Nanming Domestic Security Division took Ms. Guo to her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated a large number of personal items.
Then the officers handcuffed her, interrogated her, and forcibly conducted a physical examination. She was detained for 15 days, and returned home on October 2.
Elderly Ms. Xiang was harassed at home several times by people from the 610 Office and the community office. They pressured her to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong, which she firmly refused. The community staff members threatened Ms. Xiang that her grandson’s household registration was controlled by them and was at their disposal for retaliation.
Personnel from the Huanghe Road Comprehensive Management Office and the Jinfeng District police station harassed Ms. Guo Wenyan on November 4, 2020. They threatened her with her job and the prospects of her family members so as to force her to sign guarantee statements.
Those people also harassed Mr. Qin Yongshun and Ms. Li Peihua several times. The two practitioners did not cooperate with them and told them the facts about Falun Gong. They located Mr. Qin’s son and pressured him to sign.
Ms. Yang Aiqing was arrested at home by officers from the Wucun Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on September 27, 2020. Then the officers intimidated Ms. Yang’s child, who was only a few years old, and pressed the child for giving out the source of the Falun Gong materials.
The officers then broke into the home of Ms. Yang’s sister Ms. Yang Guimei, ransacked the place, and confiscated some Falun Gong informational materials.
Both sisters were placed under criminal detention. Ms. Yang Aiqing went home and was placed under residential surveillance after 37 days of detention. She was required to report to the police station every day. Ms. Yang Guimei is still being held in custody.
About 10 people from the Xincheng Police Station and Guangsha Community broke into Ms. Xie Hongying’s home at around 8 a.m. on November 3, 2020. They tried to force her and her husband to sign a “transformation” statement, which the couple refused.
Guangsha Community staff members with with 17 or 18 people from the Police Department, the Procuratorate, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the 610 Office Inspection Team of Gansu Province, went to Ms. Xie’s home again to harass her on the morning of November 4.
Elderly Ms. Fan Xiuling in Yumen City was harassed and besieged at home several times by people from local community, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the 610 Office inspection team of Gansu Province in early November 2020. These people threatened and coaxed her to sign a “transformation” statement, which firmly Ms. Fan refused.
Mr. Shun Jun in Suzhou District was also harassed by these people on November 4. He was pressured to sign a statement agreeing to be “transformed.”
Ms. Li Guihua was arrested at her shop on October 26, 2020. The police officers ransacked her shop twice and confiscated a lot of printed materials and desk calendars. Ms. Li is being held in a detention center. Ms. Li Ruifang is also being held in a detention center.
Ms. Zhao Shuli and her husband Mr. Guo Tongrui was chased and arrested by the police on October 31, 2020 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Over a dozen officers arrived at their home in two vehicles and ransacked the place around noon that day.
The couple were taken to the Haidian District Lockup Center. The police interrogated them separately and pressed them to sign “transformation” statements.
It was reported on November 5 that the couple had been transferred from the Haidian Lockup Center to the Haidian District Detention Center.
It was reported today that three Dafa practitioners with the family names of Huang, Chang, and Zhang were arrested by the police on October 23, 2020.
At the same time, five Dafa practitioners were missing. There are reports that they were arrested and taken to the Shapotou District Detention Center.
Liu Meicheng, an official from the Zhuolu County 610 Office, called Ms. Guo Jianhong’s non-practitioner sister and harassed her on November 4, 2020.
Liu and Sun Yanping, an officer from the Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Guo’s workplace and arrested her at around 10 a.m. They took Ms. Guo to the Zhuolu County Chinese Medicine Hospital for nucleic acid testing. Ms. Guo was taken to Zhangjiakou City for 10 days of custody.
Ms. Yao Shuxia lost contact with her family on October 29, 2020. Her family asked around and later learned that she was arrested by the No. 4 Police Station, and was held in the Hailin City Detention Center.
Ms. Yan Xiuhong of Yanhonglong Village, Hulu Township, Guangzong County, had previously been harassed at home by police officers and armed police officers led by Zhang Mengkan, head of the Guangzong County Domestic Security Division. The police had attempted to arrest her. Ms. Yan escaped with righteous thoughts, and had been living away from home since then.
Ms. Yan was followed by Zhang Mengkan at the end of October 2020. She was arrested at her temporary location in Wei County by Zhang and Li Siying, head of the Wei County Domestic Security Division. She was later transferred to the Guangzong County Police Department. She is being held in the Guangzong County Detention Center.
The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, a printer, paper supplies, over 30,00 yuan in cash, and a light vehicle she used for transportation.
Ms. Yan’s family went to Zhang and asked for her release. Zhang said that it would cost 30,000 yuan, her family had to find five people as guarantors, and Ms. Yan had to write guarantee statements before she could be released.
Eleven practitioners were arrested on July 19, 2020. Their cases were turned over to the Dongcheng District Procuratorate. The 11 practitioners are: Xu Na, Meng Qingxia, Liu Qiang, Li Zongze, Li Lixin, Deng Jing, Jiao Mengjiao, Li Jiaxuan, Zheng Yanmei, Zheng Yujie, and Zhang Renfei.
Five people including Liu, director of the Fenghuadian Township Police Station, Zheng Bin, an officer, Zhang Liangheng, an official from the Comprehensive Management Office, drove over 700 kilometers (about 440 miles) to a factory in Tianzhuangtai Town, Dawa District, Panjin City, Liaoning Province on the afternoon of October 30, 2020.
Without presenting any legal paperwork, they arrested Mr. Wu Fengxing and took him to the local police station. The officers intimidated and coerced him to give up practicing Falun Gong. From a little past 3 o’clock in the afternoon until the next morning, Mr. Wu was not allowed to eat or sleep.
The officers took Mr. Wu back to the Fenghuadian Township Police Station, Cang County, Hebei Province, at 2 a.m. on November 1.
Over the two days that Mr. Wu was held at the police station, Zhang Zhizhou, director of the Fenghuadian Township Comprehensive Management Office, and Zhang Liangheng had talks with him and pressured him to “transform” and slander Dafa.
Township Government officials went to Mr. Wu’s home and pressed his mother to give up practicing Falun Gong. They shouted and threatened to search the place.
Liu, Zhang Liangheng, and Wang Jianpo went to Mr. Wu’s home and ransacked it without a warrant around 3 p.m. on November 5. They confiscated several Falun Dafa books, a desk calendar, and a wall calendar.
