Former Police Officer: “I’d Rather Sell Vegetables Than Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners!”

Feb. 21, 2020 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) A young fellow in our village, Wang, was a policeman. He quit his job and now makes a living by selling vegetables. Some villagers said he made the wrong decision but others praised him for doing the right thing. I was curious and went to check out the story myself.

Wang’s parents made a living by growing vegetables. But their land was later confiscated and their house was demolished by the government. They tried their best to support their son to finish college. He became a policeman after graduation. They were very proud of him.

After working for less than six months, their son suddenly came home and told them that he quit the job.

His parents were shocked: “You work very well there, and why do you suddenly quit?”

He replied: “I can no longer do such harmful things. I was assigned to handle Falun Gong cases. The leader told me to force them to give up their faith. They told me I could use any means possible to do so and that I would not be responsible even if anyone was beaten to death. They only wanted the transformation rate [percentage of practitioners forced to renounce Falun Gong].”

“I talked to many Falun Gong practitioners, who were mostly elderly ladies. They told me about the persecution and Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. How could I beat them? It is against the heavenly law. I thought about it a great deal and I resigned.”

His father was puzzled: “How could your leader give you such an order? It is illegal! What a world it is!”

His mother added: “Actually one of your distant relatives was diagnosed with cancer. They spent a fortune but could not cure her. She ended up regaining her health by practicing Falun Gong.”

Wang later bought an electric tricycle and began to make a living by selling vegetables.
