(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xue and Practitioner Li Arrested
2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xin Licai Arrested
3. [Shanghai] Mr. Nie Guangfeng’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
4. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
5. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Junnan Arrested
6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Huabo Arrested

1. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xue and Practitioner Li Arrested

Ms. Xue from the Jingkou District was arrested on February 19, 2020. 

Another practitioner with the last name Li from the Runzhou District was also recently arrested.

2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xin Licai Arrested

Liu Jie, head of the Huancui District 610 Office, wearing a face mask due to the coronavirus outbreak, led several police officers and community personnel to Mr. Xin Licai’s home on the afternoon of February 10, 2020. They arrested him, ransacked his residence, and confiscated a computer, printer, and Falun Gong books.

Officers took Mr. Xin to the Zhudao Police Station, and extorted 1,000 yuan from his wife Ms. Wang Guifeng. Mr. Xin has since returned home.

3. [Shanghai] Mr. Nie Guangfeng’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Nie Guangfeng, from the Minhang District, had his case turned over to the Minhang Procuratorate in February 2020.

4. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners in Qingyang City were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division in late January 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked, and they had to pay fines.

Ms. Cao Wenmei, in her 60s, from Dongzhi Town, and Ms. Zhang Xiulan, in her late 70s, who lives in the city, were among those arrested.

However, the local detention center refused to admit the arrested practitioners due to the coronavirus pandemic, and they have all since returned home.

5. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Junnan Arrested

Mr. Peng Junnan, 77, a retired teacher from Hengyang County, was reported to the police on the morning of March 10, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by the deputy head of the Hengyang Domestic Security Division and other officers.

Mr. Peng was taken to the county police department, and his Falun Gong materials and keepsakes were confiscated. He was interrogated for an hour, before being released.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Huabo Arrested

Mr. Zhang Huabo from Dasiping Village, Xinbin County, was arrested by several officers on March 11, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Patrol officers from Xiajiahe Police Station, Dasiping Police Station, and the Xinbin County Police Department went to Mr. Zhang’s home, and ransacked it that afternoon.

Mr. Zhang was fined by the Xiajiahe Police Station, and given 15 days of detention, but the detention center refused to admit him due to the coronavirus pandemic. Mr. Zhang was released later that evening.
